Enduring Star Power
Gwen Stefani rarely leaves the headlines but she built a fresh layer of buzz a few weeks back by performing the new “Nobody But You” with Blake Shelton at the Grammys.
The song is the couple’s third collaboration and was originally released on Shelton’s December compilation album Fully Loaded: God’s Country but the live performance created a memorable moment for both artists’ fans—and generated an increase in speculation that the two stars might be officially engaged.
We don’t know when Gwen might walk down the aisle, but we do know when she’ll be back onstage at Zappos Theater for her Just A Girl headlining residency. She has six more dates this month (Feb. 12, 14-15, 19 and 21-22) before returning to the Strip in May.
Zombie Burlesque
Must-See: ‘Zombie Burlesque’
There’s nothing quite like Zombie Burlesque anywhere else on the Las Vegas Strip. It’s a comedy musical at V Theater in Miracle Mile Shops, set in an alternative dimension Vegas where the infamous atomic testing in the desert spawned a breed of undead entertainers who have learned to co-exist with us tasty humans—as long as they get a red-hot stage on which to sing, dance, and joke. The six-year-strong show pulls off the impossible sexy-funny balance, but it’s the seven-piece band that pushes these performances into the must-see category, laying down an impressive sonic foundation for some thrilling vocal performances from star characters Zenoch and Sophia LaMorte. It’s a very different twist on traditional burlesque, one you won’t soon forget.
Around the Strip
Chef, restaurateur and TV personality Guy Fieri celebrated his recent birthday at his first Las Vegas eatery, Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen & Bar at The Linq. Party guests mingled and snacked on al pastor tacos, Kobe burger pockets and Nashville hot chicken before the Las Vegas Raiders’ Raiderettes presented a special birthday cake.
The night before, Fieri joined friend Sammy Hagar, along with Rick Springfield and Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak at festivities to celebrate the rebranding of The STRAT. Among the local performers hitting The STRAT party’s blue carpet were DJ Ashba, Carrot Top, Ricardo Laguna, Dani Elizabeth, Murray SawChuck and cast members from Celestia, Fantasy, Thunder From Down Under and Chippendales The Show.
Pink
Grammy Award-winning artist Pink enjoyed a night out on the town in Las Vegas the night before this year’s Grammys in Los Angeles, and the main attraction was hit show Absinthe at Caesars Palace. Pink caught the late show and went backstage afterwards for some quality time with the Gazillionaire and Green Fairy.
Chasten Buttigieg, husband of presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg, dined with friends at Beauty & Essex inside The Cosmopolitan recently, enjoying the signature grilled cheese, smoked bacon and tomato soup dumplings, chicken meatballs and other dishes. Reality TV star Vicki Gunvalson of Real Housewives of Orange County fame also stopped in at Cosmo to catch Opium after dinner at Rose Rabbit Lie. The vivacious blonde enjoyed the show so much, she went backstage to snap a photo with the crazy cast.
