On behalf of Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine, please don’t be a Distracting Ignoble Commenting Kook during their sets at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa. Don’t shout out lyrics before Cheese sings them. Don’t try to be a comedian or crash the stage. Don’t ruin someone else’s good time. This is a performance by the last of the red-hot lounge lizards, complete with hand-held pyrotechnics direct from the right pocket of Cheese’s dinner jacket. This show demands your attention.
Richard Cheese, known to the IRS as Mark Jonathan Davis, has led Lounge Against the Machine through 21 albums and two decades of transforming familiar tunes from across the pop spectrum into swinging songs for lovers and other strangers. If the audience is lucky, Cheese will lead keyboardist Bobby Ricotta, drummer Frank Feta and bassist Billy Bleu into uncharted territory that tests Cheese’s fluency in foreign languages or allow him to point out the underlying creepiness of radio hits from past eras.
Cheese owns the room when he performs, so please don’t try to be part of the act. People pay good money to catch the band, and there’s only room enough for one Dick when Lounge Against the Machine is in the house.
