Like Times Square in New York City or Bourbon Street in New Orleans, the Fountains of Bellagio water show is what people around the world associate with Las Vegas. Thus, it’s the sun of the Strip’s solar system, and all other hotels, casinos and attractions are merely locked in the Fountain’s orbit.

Naturally, such pull attracts tourists and all sorts of peculiar characters. As the Fountains do their magic in the background, one might also spot one of Las Vegas’ endangered showgirls or watch a Michael Jackson impersonator moonwalk along Las Vegas Boulevard. It’s all part of the experience, and it also adds a little fun in the downtime between shows.

Despite the characters and the attention they attract, when the fountains begin to blast, sway and dance to popular songs like “Viva Las Vegas” by Elvis, “Believe” by Cher or “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga, it’s hard to focus on anything else.
