Ever since COVID-19’s shutdown started easing, more and more entertainers made their way back to Vegas stages, and plenty of attractions, restaurant and hotels debuted. And that go-go pace has kept on through the year. Here are a few of the things we’ll be looking forward to in the months to come, and that you’ll want to come back to Vegas for.
One of the coolest things scheduled to open on the Strip has to be FlyOver Las Vegas (Sept. 1) In the flight ride attraction’s The Real Wild West, you’ll be transported over the some of the most iconic locales in the west from Vegas to Yellowstone, feel the breeze through your hair and the mist twirling about. The screen for the ride is huge (more than three normal movie screens), and you’ll get a bonus film in a separate area with wraparound screens while you’re waiting for your ride.
Come to town in September and you may face some difficult entertainment choices. One of the best soirées around, the AFAN Aid for AIDS of Nevada’s 35th Annual Black & White Party is 8 p.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 25, and is always so fabulous! The outfits on the attendees can be over the top, and it seems like everyone is trying to outdo one another. But the best part is that this is a fundraiser that helps support HIV-positive individuals and their families. If you are looking to expand your palate, the Tropicana Wine Mixer is the same weekend, Sept. 24-26. There are six classes that covers essentials of wine knowledge, from different experts and makers, a welcome party and a brunch to cap the weekend off. You can buy tickets for each separately or indulge in a full pass for the weekend.
Are you a fan of restaurateur Lisa Vanderpump’s L.A. endeavors or the Caesars Palace venue? She’s opening a second place in Vegas this winter. Vanderpump à Paris at Paris Las Vegas will feature more cocktails and dishes that the Caesars Palace restaurant is known for, with a French design.
That’s not the only restaurant that will be getting big buzz when it opens. 50 Eggs Hospitality Group just announced the planned spring opening in The Palazzo of Wakuda from Japanese chef Tetsuya Wakuda, who has restaurants across Australia and Singapore, including a Michelin-starred venue. Said the chef, “The Wakuda brand represents an evolution from my restaurants to date, with a vibrant design and atmosphere that will be an exciting new backdrop for my cuisine.”
Craving some live music? For three weekends in late October and early November, rocker Sammy Hagar takes to the stage at The STRAT for a mini-residency. Sammy & Friends will feature various performers and songs like ’80s hair anthem “I Can’t Drive 55.”
Two other performances that will thrill you around that time are Sting: My Songs, which brings the musician’s newest album to the Colosseum at Caesars Palace starting Oct. 29 and The Rolling Stones, who play Allegiant Stadium on Nov. 6.
