If you are looking for a straight-up documentary about the Fab Four’s rise to fame, you won’t find it in The Beatles LOVE. What you will find is a beloved Cirque du Soleil spectacular, which reopens this week after being closed for more than a year.

LOVE captures much of the spirit of the times that influenced the group, popping with intense acrobatics, dancing, and The Beatles’ music as you’ve never heard it before. It’s all staged inside a circular theater, where all sides of the audience get equal-access viewing of the proceedings.

And several show characters are drawn from songs like “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds,” “Strawberry Fields Forever,” “Here Comes the Sun” and “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.” Imagine Lucy, Sgt. Pepper, Eleanor Rigby and Father McKenzie, all created with that Cirque touch.
