Although much of the mystery surrounding the fate of the Titanic has been uncovered over the last four decades, there’s still a mystique within the tragedy that captures the imagination. You wonder about the people and the lives lost on that frigid night in the Atlantic. Who were they? Why were they there? Where were they going? It’s all become a distant and abstract memory.
Yet, at Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition, you’ll get a chance to know the passengers on a deeper level through more than 250 possessions and artifacts recovered from the ship’s wreckage. Upon entering, you’ll receive a card with a biography of a real passenger, whose story unfolds as you make your way through. Along that journey, you’ll see a stunning replica of the Grand Staircase and the exhibit’s prized possession, a 22-ton part of the real ship’s hull also known as “The Big Piece.”
