Pop culture aficionados will be seriously geeking out at this year’s Barrett-Jackson auction at the Las Vegas Convention Center from June 17-19. The standard-bearer in collector car and automotive lifestyle events, Barrett-Jackson has long held many surprises for its fans. (Few will forget the emotional 2018 auction, highlighted by re-creations of vehicles driven in the iconic movies of Burt Reynolds, who passed away just before the auction.) This year is no different, with everything from famous DJs and iconic movies to former wrestling superstars.

Fans of Deadmau5 (who’s fresh off a very successful stint in Las Vegas, packing in a huge crowd at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center) will no doubt want to see—and possibly bid on—a 2015 McLaren P1, formerly owned by the superstar DJ/producer. It’s a very popular vehicle with hypercar enthusiasts; it can reach 120 mph in 6.8 seconds, a result of a purpose-built, flat-plane V8 engine that develops 727 peak horsepower, in addition to a single electric motor capable of producing an additional 176 horsepower. All told, the car produces 903 horsepower, and it’s one of only 375 produced. Based on a one-piece, carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, the car has only 180 miles on it.

Also on the block this year is the original “10-second car,” a 1994 Toyota Supra driven by Paul Walker in 2001’s The Fast and the Furious and 2003’s 2 Fast 2 Furious. Built by Eddie Paul at The Shark Shop in El Segundo, Calif., the factory turbo car is powered by a framed 2JZ-GTE, 3.0-liter, turbocharged inline-6 engine that’s mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission.

Wrestling fans will be excited to see former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Bill Goldberg’s 2003 West Coast Choppers custom chopper. The “El Diablo” 2003 chopper was created by Jesse James’ team, is powered by a S&S V-twin Evo engine, and rides on a massive 18-inch-by-8.5-inch rear wheel and 21-inch-by-2.5-inch wheel in the front. It was used by Goldberg in the Bull Run television series.

“If you’re looking for performance and provenance, you better make your way to our Las Vegas Auction in June,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “Few opportunities come around to own cultural icons like The Fast and the Furious Supra, or the hypercar performance found in a McLaren P1. This year’s Las Vegas auction is going to deliver on everything we love about the car collector hobby.”

Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson, said the company generated plenty of buzz during its Scottsdale auction in March, and anxiously awaits its arrival to Las Vegas.

“Our foot is planted firmly on the accelerator as we head into Las Vegas and the beautiful new West Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center,” Jackson said. “We couldn’t be more excited to be heading to the great destination of Vegas at a great new venue with some great cars, like the 2019 Ford GT (pictured below). Consignments are coming in rapidly—now’s the time to be part of what promises to be a phenomenal event.”
