It’s a beautiful escape. Outdoors. Decorated with garden decor. A canopy of bistro lights strung up everywhere. Views of the Mediterranean-inspired, poolside landscape. Comfy, cozy nooks and lounge areas with sofas and tables. It’s all at locals favorite Green Valley Ranch on the patio of its “backyard” space—The Backyard at Sundown is a new pop-up lounge perfect for the evening’s warming weather.
The nice respite from the bustle of the Strip transports guests to a European-style vacation spot. Guests are encouraged to take a stroll through the expanse of the backyard, complete with vineyards and a re-created beach.
The Backyard at Sundown also has some of the yummiest specialty cocktails, gorgeously dressed up for plenty of picture taking. One of the tastiest, with a slight sweetness and with delicious SipSmith gin, is the English Garden (pictured), mixed with lemon, lavender, strawberries, thyme and Red Bull blueberry. A fun, cutesy-garnished cocktail is the Weekend in Coronado, mixed with Avión Silver tequila, grapefruit, guava, lime and soda. Another impressive-looking cocktail is The Hunny Bear, made with Jack Daniels Tennessee honey whiskey, Jack Daniels Tennessee straight rye whiskey, lemon and peach. A nice selection of red and white wines and prosecco are also available in flights, with 3-ounce pours starting at just $15.
The lounge also supplies some sweet and salty snacks for a little nosh. The Terrace Bites include shareable plates like a tray of a trio of nuts, including spicy almonds, honey-roasted cashews and wasabi nuts. A charcuterie dome comes with chorizo, capocollo, smoked Gouda and quince paste, or opt for a plate of fresh, seasonal fruit like watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe and gooseberries. One very darling presentation is the rustic assorted chocolates.
Another cool feature about Sundown? The different setups throughout the patio are designed for capturing perfect shots for social media. The Backyard at Sundown is open every Friday and Saturday evening, beginning at 6 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are suggested.
