“Whoosh!!! It just got real!” With a wave of his hand and some deft sleight of hand, Piff the Magic Dragon delivers these words to hilarious effect during his performances at the Flamingo Showroom. Most illusionists on the Las Vegas Strip can make a card appear from thin air, but when Piff does it, you’re almost waiting more for his one-liner than the feat itself.
Therein lies the secret to Piff’s success. He completely sells his character—a guy dressed as a dragon (not a very convincing costume, by the way) who believes he is a dragon, replete with said dragon’s fantasies about princesses and gold. Add in a devil-may-care attitude and a cute sidekick named Mr. Piffles, and you’ve got comedy gold—the dragon kind.
