Aria is known for the many art pieces installed throughout, and taking a stroll around the resort is something that is worth repeating, whether it’s on the same trip or not. Recently, artist Paola Pivi brought her We Are the Baby Gang exhibit to the hotel lobby at Aria, installing 51 fluorescent baby bears in various scenes across the area.
The bears, created out of bright neon colors and tons of feathers, are designed to excite a sense of whimsy with vignettes of bears in yoga poses floating through the air and gazing into pools. But there is also a deeper purpose to the installation, and that is to draw attention to the plight of polar bears in the wild, whose habitat is being reduced and destroyed by climate change.
“I am excited to bring my beautiful divas to Las Vegas,” said Pivi in a release. “Aria’s gorgeous lobby with its soaring ceilings and natural light is a perfect canvas to create this colorful world of polar bears to showcase the significance of these animals and our deep connection with them.”
