America’s Got Talent has arguably dominated the Las Vegas entertainment scene for the last 15 years, starting with Terry Fator and going all the way to Tape Face, Piff the Magic Dragon, Mat Franco and Shin Lim. And another act from AGT is about to join that landscape, one that combines technology with cool dance moves—iLuminate.
The act definitely got the attention of AGT’s judges—and the country—with its presentation. The dance company, founded by Miral Kotb, dressed in black and then turned off all the lights, making themselves invisible. Then the magic happened; their clothing was covered in LEDs and other light-producing hardware. They were able to achieve the seemingly impossible, thanks to the timing of the lights and the acrobatics of their dance moves. While they didn’t win their season, iLuminate nevertheless had arrived. They’ve since performed in more than 15 countries, and their original dream—to have a headlining show in Vegas—has come true. “I feel we are bringing something so fun and different to the city, and we’re excited for everyone to come out and join the party,” Kotb said.
