When illusionist Lèa Kyle first appeared on season 16 of America’s Got Talent, she revealed her dream was to have her own show in Las Vegas. The French quick-change artist proceeded to saunter-strut behind a small black curtain and in a nanosecond revealed her all-black outfit was now a glittery turquoise mini-dress. That got a “Whoa!” from Howie Mandel and caused Heidi Klum’s eyes to pop open wide.
Revealing anything else about Kyle’s act would be spoiling it for the audiences attending America’s Got Talent Las Vegas Live, but her Vegas ambitions are definitely becoming a reality. Mandel said she was the best of many quick-change artists that have appeared on AGT. Simon Cowell cited her “awesome presentation,” and Klum (a major influence in Kyle’s life) suggested she go right to the live shows.
That’s exactly what she did in January, joining a cast of varied acts all sharing in that one aspect that caused them to rise about the competition: presentation. From singers Kodi Lee and Jimmie Herrod to shadow-performance group The Silhouettes and high-tech, neon-enhanced dance troupe Light Balance, it’s not so much what the entertainers do but how they do it that distinguishes them.
Tying them all together in a classic variety show format makes America’s Got Talent Las Vegas Live pound-for-pound the most talent-packed show on the Strip. Preacher Lawson, AGT’s stand-out stand-up comedian from season 12, hosts the show and presents AGT alumni such as mentalists The Clairvoyants, magician Dustin Tavella, knife-throwing twosome Deadly Games and mondo circus act Duo Transcend.
The duo of Mandel and Cowell were in the audience for a recent Saturday-night performance. They showed appreciation to cast, crew, Strip officials and executives from MGM and AGT, and received keys to the Las Vegas Strip as March 12 was deemed “America’s Got Talent Las Vegas LIVE Day.”
“This is more mind-blowing than the TV show because this is the dream,” Mandel said. “This is real and this is the best show in Vegas.” Come see for yourself.
