One thing you have to understand about Terry Fator: The man lives for Christmas! As much as you love the mistletoe, the carols, the tinsel, the trimmed tree, trust us, this man loves it more than you do. As many Christmas specials as you’ve seen over the years—Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and A Charlie Brown Christmas—Fator has seen more. He has assimilated all the entertainment world has to offer during the holidays, and he uses it all in his immensely entertaining A Very Terry Christmas at New York-New York.

Fator’s fans no doubt know his act very well by now: Quite simply put, he’s the best combination of ventriloquist, singer and impersonator the Strip currently offers, and his ever-growing cast of characters reflects the mind-blowing amount of voices this man can summon—without moving his lips! Oh, and did we mention he’s funny, too? And his Christmas gift to everyone is a show that’s guaranteed to put you in a yuletide mood. Heck, we’d go so far as to suggest that even cynics will be won over by Fator’s seasonal shenanigans.

That means you’ll hear chestnuts like “Winter Wonderland,” “Sleigh Ride,” “White Christmas” and more sung by voices you’ll clearly recognize (Fator does it all, everything from Garth Brooks and David Bowie to Michael Jackson and Justin Bieber). Expect to see Maynard Thompkins, who Fator introduces as the world’s greatest Elvis impersonator, warbling “Blue Christmas”; Apollo legend Julius doing his best Barry White in covering “Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel”; and Duggie, a slacker supreme, singing “The Night Before Christmas” like you’ve never heard it before.

You might even catch a glimpse of some of Fator’s other famous friends, from Walter T. Airdale, a Nashville vet who’s keen to remind Fator—and the audience—about how many wives he’s had (trust us, it’s a lot, and it seems to keep growing as the show goes on!) and hot mama Vikki the Cougar to Wrex the Crash Test Dummy (who tries not to fall apart onstage) and, of course, Winston the Impersonating Turtle, who’s just the cutest little thing ever.

But Fator’s show has evolved beyond just unique puppet creations. Over the years, Fator has expanded his repertoire to include likenesses of the real thing he imitates, including Bieber, Jackson, Bowie, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Willie Nelson and Justin Timberlake. Part of the fun of a Fator show is you never really know who will show up from night to night—the possibilities seem endless.

And then there’s that humor we talked about earlier. Duggie, a big fan of, um, plants, will introduce you to a new holiday that’s an adjunct to Christmas: Juana. (We’ll let that sink in a bit, as we’re sure you’ll figure out the rest.)

Fator has come a long way since winning the second season of America’s Got Talent more than a decade ago, but as his Christmas show illustrates, some things never change. The finale of A Very Terry Christmas may make you reflect; it may make you cry. Because even though it takes place in Vegas, with all the Vegas style Fator can muster, it’s still quintessentially Christmas.
