She really did take that Louisville slugger to both headlights. Carrie Underwood, the powerhouse vocalist who’s long been loved for her country tunes, returns to her Reflection: The Las Vegas Residency, this week to bring three more nights of great music and phenomenal showmanship. And, you may have guessed it, a pretty little souped-up four-wheel drive does make an appearance.

Resorts World Las Vegas has proven time and time again that it brings an incredible level of production with each residency lucky enough to call the theater home. Underwood’s is no exception. Visual elements include moving set pieces, flashy lighting design and various screens, creating a dynamic backdrop that morphs seamlessly to accompany each song that the singer performs.

Then, of course, there’s the star herself, with a wardrobe of fashionable outfits, a voice so fierce it fills the space the moment she lets out her first note, and those glorious legs! The singer stuns at every moment of this show, from breakup bangers like “Cowboy Casanova” to ballads like “Jesus, Take The Wheel” and upbeat tracks like “All-American Girl.” While Underwood’s catalog surely must have been hard to narrow down into a single show, she’s gone out of her way to ensure she displays her full range of talents to her Vegas crowds.

You can likely count on hearing your favorites as she takes hits from most of her albums, from debut Some Hearts all the way to her latest, Denim & Rhinestones. She even performs “How Great Thou Art” from her album of gospel hymns.

The dancers and instrumentalists who join Underwood also help bring the whole show to life with their respective talents. Aerialists and acrobats make appearances, bringing a very Vegas-y essence to the already elaborate display. When the star steps offstage for a moment, ribbon dancers fill the foreground of the scene under blue-toned lighting, while Underwood’s band play soft instrumentals, creating a beautiful calm in the room before the fiery performer returns. You can almost feel the room take a breath as the serene moment plays out.

Making the show even more special, Underwood takes advantage of brief breaks between songs to share anecdotes, address the audience and allow the room to feel a connection with her. The singer’s energy is warm and kind, and it shines brighter than even the stage lights can manage. If you’re particularly lucky, you may even find yourself having a close encounter with Underwood, possibly even a moment onstage with her.

Wrapping up the show, the singer pulls out her final stop, which (spoiler incoming) is an impressive water feature that is unlike anything you could possibly imagine. As water flows down a sloped structure, drenching Underwood and her dancers, the songstress belts out her final song in a moment you need to see live. It’s magnificent and memorable, and it perfectly concludes the over-the-top, Vegas-style spectacle.
