Even when he was first wowing audiences on his way to winning America’s Got Talent (and becoming one of the top headliners in Las Vegas for years to come), it was apparent that Terry Fator had an almost childlike wonder about him; despite his immense talent and the effect it had on others, he never seemed consumed by it all. It’s part of the man’s appeal through the years; it’s what helps him connect with audiences, and it’s what helps make his holiday shows, titled A Very Terry Christmas, so special and memorable.

If you’re one of those TV viewers who chokes up every time Linus explains the true meaning of Christmas on A Charlie Brown Christmas, Fator’s show is tailor-made for you. That’s the feeling he’s going for in his show, not to mention the vibe of the old 1970s specials—the ones where Bing Crosby would welcome a host of celebrities into his home to sing songs and tell a joke or two. In this case, those celebrities are Fator’s puppets. And the jokes? Well, let’s just say the dads in the audience are going to be howling.

Fans who recognize some of Fator’s more famous creations are in for a treat. Maynard Thompkins, who’s billed as the world’s greatest Elvis impersonator (even though he seems reluctant to ever actually sing) will belt out “Blue Christmas”; Julius, billed as a legend of the Apollo Theater, delivers a velvety smooth rendition of “Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel”; and Duggie Scott Walker, a slacker extraordinaire (get ready to hear the word “Dude!” about 100 times) takes on “The Night Before Christmas.”

Winston the Impersonating Turtle, undeniably Fator’s cutest character ever, may just do his best Linus impersonation. Sprinkled throughout all the fun will be renditions of some of your favorite holiday classics, including “Winter Wonderland,” “Sleigh Ride” and “White Christmas.”
