Feel the love—whomever you choose to love and however you choose to love—at the Las Vegas Strip’s LGBTQ+ pool parties every Saturday and Sunday. While Sundays have belonged to Temptation Sundays for 13 years at Luxor, Sahara Las Vegas now comes in clutch every Saturday with its Elevate Pride Pool Party. The two safe spaces to take a dip, party under the sun and splash into fabulousness create the perfect weekend to welcome the gay community and its supporters.
“Everyone is Welcome at Temptation Sundays,” said host Eduardo Cordova, who is also the owner of one of the city’s most popular gay clubs, The Garden Las Vegas. “We have something for everybody, and we are a safe space for all those in the LGBTQ+ community. The Luxor staff (is) super welcoming and embrace love and acceptance.”
And the Elevate Pride Pool Party is contributing to the community by partnering with Las Vegas Pride. “We started Sahara Cares as a way to support and give back to our local community,” said Jae Edwards, Sahara’s digital marketing manager. “As part of our Sahara Cares initiatives, we wanted to find ways to include and financially support the local LGBTQIA+ community. Partnering with Las Vegas Pride to host the official pride pool party was a no-brainer. Half of all ticket sales will go to Las Vegas Pride, which is a nonprofit dedicated to ending discrimination against LGBTQIA+ people by developing and advocating for policies that support this community.”
Now with two pool parties, the fun has doubled. Guests of Temptation Sundays can enjoy the massive pool with Roman columns and waterfall features, while guests of Elevate party on the rooftop in the intimate and upscale setting. “Each year gets bigger and better and it’s very exciting for us to elevate our events and keep our party inclusive,” Cordova said. “We curate each season with special DJs, guest celebrities and amazing drag queen entertainers to create a unique party atmosphere that welcomes one and all. … We continually hear stories of guests meeting their husband or their best friend at Temptation Sundays. Our fun activations, special guests and surprises are what keep fans coming back for more.” And the vibes and programming at Elevate are, “electric, vibrant, inclusive, sunny day poolside vibes with themed cocktails, high energy, etc.,” Edwards said.
For an extra-special experience, book a cabana or daybed at either pool party. “Temptation Sundays’ cabanas include entry for up to eight guests, four plush lounge chairs and a mini fridge for the ultimate indulgent day by the pool,” Cordova said. (Cabanas are limited, so book a VIP cabana in advance.)
At Elevate, guests are privy to the property’s delish dishes from restaurants like Chickie’s & Pete’s Crabhouse & Sports Bar and Uno Más Street Tacos & Spirits by using the on-property mobile ordering app, Mr. Yum. Look up full menus, place the order, pay for the order and then go downstairs to pick up the meal and bring it back to Elevate to enjoy!
Keep it proud and loud all weekend long this summer at these two not-to-be-missed pool parties. “While there are properties that host LGBTQIA+ events on The Strip, we wanted to provide an inclusive space that directly supports the LGBTQIA+ community here in Las Vegas, and we couldn’t think of a better nonprofit organization to work directly with than Las Vegas Pride,” Edwards said.
And as Cordova said, “It’s so important for our community to have representation and visibility front and center at the beautiful Luxor on the Las Vegas Strip. MGM Resorts has always been an advocate for inclusivity and equality, and this is a way we can celebrate our true selves with our beautiful LGBTQ+ community. The love and support we get from tourists from all over the world and regulars in attendance make this party so special and exciting.
