Over the last 35 years, Mecum Auctions has proven itself to be one of the premier collector-car auction houses in the world and, over the decades, its scope has broadened to include motorcycles, restored tractors and even guitars. And this year’s auction continues the excellent tradition of variety, with everything from a practically brand-new Lamborghini to a 1934 classic. And yes, motorcycles are again available for viewing and bidding, as are some truly off-the-beaten-path items.

This year’s eye-grabber is surely going to be a 2022 flat green Lamborghini Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae, one of only 350 produced—with only 97 miles on its odometer, a 6.5L/769 horsepower V-12 and a 7-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. But it’s only one of an estimated 1,000 items up for auction, everything from American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, exotics, trucks, hot rods, customs and so many more.

Another highlight is sure to be the 16-vehicle George Walker Collection, which includes seven cars and nine motorcycles. This is a collection for the serious antique fan, ranging from a 1933 purple-over-gray Ford Roadster to a custom 1934 Ford hot rod. Highlighting the motorcycles is a 1929 Stylson.

Spanning generations is the Holden Grace Collection, ranging from a 1937 Ford Custom Cabriolet (which underwent a four-year restoration, is finished in Maui deep sea blue metallic paint, and is powered by a Corvette 5.7L LS1 V-8 engine and 6-speed manual transmission) and an original 1977 Pontiac Firebird Esprit Skybird (with an odometer at 76,600 miles and a matching-numbers 305 CI V-8 engine) to a 1970 Chevrolet K5 Blazer (finished in empire turquoise metallic paint and powered by a matching-numbers 350 CI V-8 engine and 4-speed manual transmission).

And this year, fans of Americana will absolutely want to check out the Road Art selection, which includes 100 items from the Montana Collection. Wait until you check out a pair of original, restored gas pumps, part of the collection’s 20—a 1924 Grizzly Gasoline Gilbert and Barker Model 67 visible gas pump and a 1931 Orange Crown Aviation Milwaukee Model 781 Clock Face gas pump. The collection also includes 50 neon and tin signs, including an original 1949 Gulf Dealer Double-Sided Porcelain sign.

And with this year’s event ending on Veteran’s Day, there’s an added bonus for those celebrating: One of the vehicles up for auction that day is a 1975 Ford F250 custom pickup, a frame-off custom build completed by a U.S. Army veteran, his wife and his young son. It’s an impressive truck, featuring custom-designed fuel tanks by Greatland Welding in Wasilla, Alaska, a power train and electrical installation by Feringer’s Enterprises in Fairmount City, Pa., and a NV5600 6-speed transmission with a South Bend twin-disc clutch.
