Sparkly, sophisticated and sexy, and that’s just the theater, Voltaire. It’s inside this theater that queen of burlesque Dita Von Teese stages her new show, four nights a week.

The vibe: vintage Las Vegas. The show: vintage showgirl realness. (Von Teese brought with her a talented troupe of showgirls and showboys, and even some famous faces like comedy burlesque dancer Dirty Martini.) The costuming: the real deal. (The Bob Mackie and Pete Menefee creations were used in the city’s longest running production show, Jubilee! The costumes were lent to Von Teese and her cast and are simply stunning and dazzle under the showroom spotlights). The showroom: as if it was specially built to house Von Teese’s production.

Every seat in the house provides optimal views of all that happens onstage, and thanks to a runway that leads out into the crowd, some guests get up close and personal. A cool feature, and very rare in any showroom, are chairs that swivel, so no neck-straining happening here!

The production is a cavalcade of burlesque beauty and brawn. Huge feathered fans and headdresses accent the cha-cha-cha number; pink rhinestones and cowboy hats and chaps add some sexy yee-haw to the country number; tight black costuming, leather and whips excite during the bondage number; Dirty Martini puts on a really fun romp atop a twirling carousel horse (and the horse ain’t the only thing twirling—this lady is famous for her tassel skills); and the re-creation of some of Bettie Page’s most famous photos in one number is downright seductive.

Von Teese plays a larger role onstage in numbers like the circus act, where she serves as ringleader, the bondage number, the Liberace number and, of course, the number that is pure Von Teese—her playtime in a martini glass. The close of the show has the entire cast converge onstage in those magnificent Mackie-Menefee creations including Von Teese in the famous white, angelic, feathered headdress and wings.

A bonus of Von Teese’s show is that guests are welcome to hang out before or after to enjoy the theater’s bar, and throughout the show guests can order yummy specialty cocktails, bottle service, liquor-infused ice cream and caviar service.
