At Coachella 2015, Kaskade accomplished an amazing feat. Not only was he the first EDM DJ to make his way to the headliner stage in the festival’s history, but the Chicago native also drew a larger crowd than any other artist performing that year.

It was a seminal moment for dance music and a testament to Kaskade’s musical talents, which he turned into a career more than two decades ago in San Francisco. Back then he was Ryan Gary Raddon until he figured out the DJ thing could be his path to success.

After a couple years of gigs at various clubs around the city and producing music for house music Om Records, Raddon, now 52, became Kaskade and would go on to be a Grammy-nominated artist many times over, as well as one of the most in-demand, highest-paid DJs in the world.

With nearly a dozen albums under his belt, Kaskade’s most recent musical efforts found him collaborating with EDM powerhouse Deadmau5, together releasing 2023 album Kx5 with lead single “Escape” reaching the No. 11 spot on Billboard’s dance/electronic songs chart. In November, he released a Christmas album, Kaskade Christmas Volume 2.

No stranger to live performances, Kaskade has been a fixture on the Vegas nightlife and daylife scene for many years and last year he signed with Zouk Nightclub. Kaskade is on the roster again for 2024, with a performance at Zouk this Saturday, Jan. 19.
