Last week, fall arrived. While warmer temps might persist here and there in Las Vegas, we still say it’s time to celebrate the new season, and light up a cigar and pair it with a cocktail. Cigar season is here, folks, and we’re here to give you the lowdown on where to enjoy.

Eight Lounge at Resorts World Las Vegas is everything sexy and slick you’d want in a cigar lounge, from the décor to the bar and the outdoor lounge. Start the season off right with a killer cigar and cocktail pairing, the new H99 Toro cigar from Liga Privada paired with the Old Pal cocktail, a blend of Knob Creek rye, Dolin dry vermouth and Campari. “It’s a great, medium-bodied cigar that often gets overlooked because it’s the newest blend of the Liga Privada line,” says Ian Floranza, general manager of Eight Lounge. “Once guests give it a try, they love it. … (They) pair very well with each other giving each enough contrast to enjoy both the drink and cigar.”

Eight’s cigar selection is impressive, with brands including rare and standout choices like My Father & Tatuaje La Union, 50th Anniversary Padrón, the limited production Montecristo Espada Signature, the $6,000 Gurkha Maharaja, Chinese zodiac cigars from various brands and a new cigar that Floranza is especially excited about, the Year of the Snake Plasencia cigar. Eight’s cigar aficionados are all well-versed in every cigar for sale and love to take a deep dive into guests’ preferences to put together a specially curated cigar and spirit pairing.

If you happen to find yourself at Caesars Palace or Paris Las Vegas, stop into Montecristo Cigar Bar. Each offers its own vibe, and here we highlight the newly opened location at Paris. The Parisian setting gives off an air of an elegant European smoking lounge. Try the Sparrow’s Edge cocktail with Diplomático rum, Amaro Averna liqueur, Domaine de Canton, orange bitters, lemon and a smoked top paired with the Espada by Montecristo cigar. The cocktail blends sweet, sour and bitter with oak and vanilla notes while the cigar has notes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee and spices. “A cigar aficionado manager is available to provide insight and help guests select the best cigar for their palate,” says Roy Angeles, Montecristo Cigar Bar manager. “… All team members have vast knowledge and experience and are happy to assist guests with cigar and drink pairings.” Guests also have the chance to snag the La Flor Dominicana Salomon Unico cigar, a cigar specifically made for the property. Very similar to the popular Andalusian Bull cigar from the brand, this medium-bodied version has a slight spice throughout and is stamped with the Eiffel Tower.
