To effectively plan a dope desert vacation, you’ve got to scope out the whole city, and there’s no better way to do that than hop aboard one of Maverick Helicopters’ birds and soar high above the whole city and beyond. For a quick trip to check this adventure off the bucket list, book the Vegas Views flight, which lasts 12 to 15 minutes and provides panoramic views of the Strip and downtown. Or, if you’d like a story to tell, book the Neon & Nature tour at sunset to fly over the Strip and to Red Rock Canyon just in time to toast champagne as you take in the Mojave’s sherbet skies.

Find another boast-worthy vantage point at High Roller at The Linq Promenade. Being able to say you’ve ridden the tallest observation wheel in North America is cool enough (550 feet), but you can tell your friend the experience was absolutely lit when you book a Happy Half Hour ride, which includes an open bar for one full 30-minute rotation of the wheel.

Now that you’ve seen some fire views, head on over to The Range 702 for a different kind of fire. This shooting range has high-powered handhelds that will wow experts and beginners alike. For a totally radical time, book the Area 51 experience and use a modified Glock, AK-V9 and MP5 to slay alien enemies and save the city from invasion. If you’re out to fire a gun you don’t have at home, book the Quadzilla experience to fire 80 rounds from a pintle-mounted multibarrel machine gun that’s capable of firing 1,400 rounds per minute.

Speaking of aliens, head to the otherworldly AREA15 on Dec. 20 at 10:30 p.m. for Oddyssey Noir, a rave experience that combines high-energy dance music with bizarre roaming performers and other unexpected wonders. Time at the aquarium is already a wicked way to spend the day, but at Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay, visitors can book exclusive opportunities to feed sea turtles or sharks as an addition to their entry. Think about how jelly your friends will be when they heard you got to go above the 1.3-million-gallon shark tank on the Strip and have a close encounter with its residents.
