Jennifer Lopez has always had a sixth sense for pop culture. Need proof? Check out her Instagram reel mashup of “What’s Up?” and “Beez in the Trap.” She didn’t just follow the meme; she owned it, bringing in Linda Perry herself—the voice behind “What’s Up?” Only J.Lo could turn an internet trend into a mini cultural event co-starring a rock legend.

It’s the kind of move that sums up her entire career: always ahead of the curve, impossible to ignore. (Seriously, is there a more recognizable initial-plus-shortened-last-name celebrity?) She’s been in the pop culture consciousness for so long that entire generations can track their coming-of-age moments by whichever J.Lo iteration they were obsessing over. (This writer, for the record, became a fan during the “Jenny From the Block” era—baseball cap, cargo pants, tinted gloss and all.)

Her resume reads like a challenge to all the pop stars and movie stars trying to keep up. She remains the only female artist ever to hold a No. 1 album (J.Lo) and No. 1 film (The Wedding Planner) simultaneously. She’s sold more than 80 million records worldwide and starred in box-office hits totaling more than $3 billion globally. She’s collected the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, the MTV Generation Award, the Billboard Icon Award and enough industry honors to require their own walk-in closet alongside those iconic awards-season outfits. (Twenty-five years on, no one has forgotten that green Versace silk chiffon dress she wore to the Grammys in 2000.)

So when Lopez announces a return to town, it’s a big deal. Up All Night Live in Las Vegas, her new residency at The Colosseum, opens during New Year’s Eve week with performances on Dec. 30-31 and Jan. 2-3, followed by eight more shows throughout March 2026.

And she’s not walking into this quietly. In a recent interview with Elle magazine, Lopez said, “Just everything in my life right now just feels really healthy and good, and I’m ready to get out there and make people sing and dance and have a good time.”

That’s J.Lo in a nutshell.

And Vegas knows exactly what it’s getting. Her 2016-’18 residency, Jennifer Lopez: All I Have at Planet Hollywood, racked up 120 shows and more than $100 million in ticket sales. That run also sharpened her as a performer. Reflecting on it, Lopez told Access Hollywood, “I loved doing my residency last time … I really felt like I grew as a performer and an artist at the time and even as a person. So I’m looking forward to this era of being up all night.”

Her live shows are more than concerts; they’re high-energy spectacles where early-2000s radio staples, emotional ballads and dance bangers come together to get you on your feet.

For anyone putting together a Vegas itinerary, whether you’re saying goodbye to 2025 or ushering in 2026, don’t sleep on this one. If pop culture has a heartbeat, J.Lo’s been syncing to it for decades, and with Up All Night, she’s inviting the rest of us to tune in and dance.
