Hussong's Cantina

It’s an Italian bar—Sala 118 at The Venetian—but it has perhaps the best twist on the classic margarita. The Margherita blends Gajàrdo Arancia Radicale liqueur, Alpe Genepy Herbetet, prickly pear, lime and fresh oregano, and the spirit used is the property’s very own select barrel of tequila, The Venetian Select Paladar reposado tequila. This is well worth the time and effort it takes.

Mama Rabbit at Park MGM was built to specifically house tequila and mezcal cocktails and to get its hands on rare mom-and-pop brands. Two mainstay cocktails on the menu are the hot spot’s ode to the margarita—the Palomita with mezcal, grapefruit juice, hibiscus, lime and aqua fresca cerveza and Mama’s Margarita with blanco tequila, orange, lime and salt or no salt and spicy or not spicy—your choice.

Hussong’s Cantina hails from Ensenada, Mexico, dating back to 1892, and claims to be the bar that invented the margarita. The spot at The Shoppes at Mandalay Place also serves margaritas in pint glasses—the original way margaritas were served, they say. Here you can try the Original Margarita recipe with Jose Cuervo Tradicional reposado tequila, triple sec, organic agave nectar and fresh-squeezed lime, and the giant Romance Margarita with Sauza Horinitos blanco and reposado, triple sec, organic agave nectar, fresh-squeezed lime juice, strawberry purée, banana liqueur and Grand Marnier. You may need some help with this one!

Sip margaritas Stripside at the laidback, beachy scene of Cabo Wabo Cantina at Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood. Order owner Sammy Hagar’s own Santos Tequila in margaritas like the Mango Margarita, Margarita Verde and the bestselling Cocorita, a margarita with a coconut twist.

In honor of the holiday, The Underground at Mob Museum offers a limited-time cocktail (Feb. 21-23), the Blueberry Basil Margarita, for $15. It’s crafted with Jose Cuervo tequila, blueberry syrup, fresh lime juice, triple sec, agave and fresh basil leaves.

Also at The Venetian, three specials are offered for the holiday. Electra Cocktail Club offers bottomless margaritas for $80 from 5 p.m.-2 a.m. and Juliet Cocktail Room does, too, from 3 p.m.-2 a.m. And over at Rosina Cocktail Lounge for $50 per person, take its one-hour margarita mixology class from 6-7 p.m.

One of the best frozen margaritas can be found at El Segundo Sol at FSLV—Fashion Show Las Vegas. Settle in, because you’ll want to keep ordering its Frozen Strawberry Margarita made with Sauza tequila and a fresh-made strawberry purée.

At Crush at MGM Grand, celebrate with two margarita cocktails priced at $22 each: the La Rosa, a blend of Ghost blanco tequila, red rose syrup, lime juice and rose salt; and the El Diablo with Mezcal Verás, Amaro Montenegro, hibiscus, morita chili pepper and lime juice.

For a delish marg in a magical setting, visit Oddwood Bar inside AREA15 and order the Mexican Candy Margarita with Querido spicy watermelon tequila, fresh watermelon, mango and a Tajín rim with a watermelon treat.

On this special day, Chica at The Venetian offers the Verdita Margarita for $21. It’s mixed with Monte Alban mezcal, Ancho Reyes tequila, toasted green peppers, lime juice, agave, pineapple, spicy bitters, saline and a Tajín rim.
