The first thing that strikes you upon entering The Range 702, Southern Nevada’s premier destination for range training and recreation for all ages and skill levels, is how good you feel. And there’s a very good reason for that: The center features a state-of-the-art filtration system, and it certainly doesn’t hurt that you get free shuttle service there from almost anywhere on the Strip!

There are four bays for shooting a wide variety of weapons in 20-plus packages. My personal favorite may be the Black Ops experience, which includes a full auto MP5 (20 rounds), a full auto M4 (20 rounds), a full auto M249 SAW (30 rounds), and a semi-auto Glock 17 (10 rounds). Every participant is given safety goggles, earplugs and headphones, and your instructors are with you every step of the way to ensure your experience is a safe, fun one.

And you can enjoy yourself knowing that The Range 702 is environmentally conscious; its 50 caliber shells get reused up to eight times, and all rounds are frangible, meaning they are not only safer and have less wear-and-tear on the back of the galleries, they are environmentally friendly.

Make sure to check out the VIP suite while you are there—it contains three large-screen TVs and cool art on the walls, and is used for everything from presentations to sports viewing. –Ken Miller
