Styx has played so many shows in Las Vegas over the last decade, one would wonder why it doesn’t set up a permanent residency here. But it’s clear why the band doesn’t: Styx is simply so popular, its tunes so timeless, that it draws enormous crowds no matter where it performs around the globe. Truly one of the best classic rock acts around, Styx starts 2025 off in style with another sure-to-be-unforgettable Vegas show.

The band’s 1970s output ranks with the very best of bands of its era. Who can hear the following titles and not get at least a hint of a goose bump: “Come Sail Away,” “The Best of Times,” “Too Much Time on My Hands” and, of course, the iconic “Babe.” It’s Styx’s inimitable feat of combining hard rock with power ballads and musical theater that keeps audiences coming back for more.

While Styx has undergone extensive lineup changes over the years, some original members remain, including guitarist/vocalist James “J.Y.” Young and bassist/vocalist Chuck Panozzo, and the inherent power with which they deliver their hits has only grown in intensity over the years. This is no band looking into its autumn years; it’s still releasing new music and continues to tour tirelessly.

Expect to hear all the band’s most massive hits, as well as fan favorites like “Renegade,” “Blue Collar Man (Long Nights),” “Mr. Roboto,” “Lady,” “Lorelei" and so many more.

The Venetian, 8:30 p.m. Jan. 24-25, 29-31 and Feb.1, starting at $41.25 plus tax and fee. ticketmaster.com
