Las Vegas is a world-class shopping destination, but its most out-of-this-world experience is in a grocery store just off the Strip at Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart, where picking up milk becomes an interdimensional adventure that’ll leave you questioning reality.

Within AREA15’s massive entertainment complex, Omega Mart turns the idea of a supermarket on its axis. One glance at the shelves reveals the truth: This isn’t your neighborhood grocery store. Here, you’ll find Emergency Clams, Happles of different levels of freshness, the energy drink Dr. Supervisor (where you can taste the micromanagement) and the famous Tattoo Chicken rotisserie plush. And because this is Las Vegas and you’re going to need comfy shoes after hours of sightseeing, you can also pick up a pair of Cage Free Toes sliders on your way out.

But for now, you’re on the way in—into this bizarre, magical world of secret doors, tunnels and rooms within rooms. That grocery store, it turns out, is the most real part of Omega Mart. Open that freezer door with the ominous “Don’t Forget Yourself” sign and you crawl through a multiverse of sensory delight and overwhelm. Nothing in this 52,000-square-foot wonderland is as it seems, from the physics-defying elevator to a hallway of rooms that invite you to touch walls, push buttons or take neon-tinted Instagram pics. Don’t miss the brand-new “Them” installation from Meow Wolf artist Whitney Lehn Meltz, which plays with your sense of self and perception. The interactive space features a digital mirror punctuated by twinkles of color and a joyous hand-painted mirror ball.

If this is your first foray into Omega Mart, by all means, touch everything and heed the immersive call. You might find yourself exploring artist Claudia Bueno’s stunning “Pulse” installation or getting lost in the “Dream Jungle,” where plants share their dreams in whispered snippets. Take time to savor the mesmerizing film in the Painted Desert of Seven Monolith Village with its Brian Eno soundtrack.

If you’re a returning visitor, dive deeper into an intriguing plotline about the seemingly nefarious Dram Corporation and explore its headquarters, a corporate maze where business malfeasance has torn holes in the space-time continuum. For mystery lovers, this is your chance to become a detective, piecing together the mysterious disappearance of Omega Mart employees through scattered documents and cryptic voicemails. And if that phone rings, go ahead and pick it up. It might offer another clue that’ll help unlock yet another portal. For even more clues, find yourself in the Micro-Breakroom and watch the employee training video on loop. Keep exploring and you might end up in the Micro-Micro-Breakroom, where the beloved Daikon Pals await discovery.

And when you need a break from reality-bending? Head to Datamosh, the not-so-hidden speakeasy where Happle Juice flows and bartenders craft both alcoholic and zero-proof versions of otherworldly cocktails. To commemorate June’s Pride celebration, sip on a lime-splashed peach passion mule, with sales benefiting Pride Tree and the Transgender Law Center.

Whether you’re an art lover, a mystery solver or simply someone who enjoys things on the surreal side, Omega Mart delivers an experience you can’t find anywhere else in this town. Head over to AREA15 and begin the adventure.
