Rip it and ride it, bro! Riding waves is possible right smack-dab in the middle of the desert thanks to the technology of FlowRider.
Located up on Planet Hollywood’s expansive rooftop pool deck, FlowRider is a watery attraction that pumps out machine-made waves using a special waveform technology that surprisingly mimics the motion of real ocean waves.
Guests can hang ten the classic surf-style way or bodyboard-style. What about wiping out?! No worries, as the FlowRider is built with a special surface to help absorb impacts. There is also an instructor on hand for every ride to help guide surfers, be it newbies or pros.
While FlowRider is open to the whole family, there are some guidelines: First, you must be able to swim; second, you must be 42 inches to ride bodyboard-style and 48 inches to surf standing up. FlowRider starts at $34.99 per person, and that includes a 30-minute session, so you have the chance to ride waves multiple times; or you can purchase an all-day pass should you wipe out your first few times!
After finishing up your day of surfing, enjoy the pool deck’s many amenities, including daybed and cabana rentals that surround two sparkling pools (one that is family friendly and one open to adults only), two hot tubs and two bars. Food can be ordered and delivered using your phone with options coming from Planet Hollywood restaurants.
