If you’re in Las Vegas and ready to head to the golf course, you might want to consider the newest name in town: Serket. The property formerly known as Rio Secco got the rebranding earlier this fall after being on hiatus for several months as the rebranding occurred.

“The transformation to Serket melds the course’s natural splendor with a refreshed identity that captures both the spirit of the game and the surrounding Mojave Desert,” said Ben Cowan-Dewar, CEO and co-founder of Cabot, in a release.

Traditionally, Serket was the Egyptian goddess of protection who had healing powers and was often depicted with a scorpion on her head, which seems particularly fitting for the new Serket, given its locale. Serket, the sister property of Cascata, owned by VICI Properties and managed by Cabot, is located in the Black Mountains area of Nevada, with stellar views of desert, mountains and the Las Vegas Strip.

Today, Serket heralds the award-winning property with a par-72 golf course designed by Rees Jones, the famous architect of many of the U.S.’s most prestigious courses. In this refresh, Serket was branded with new signage as well as scorecards, tee markers and other elements. Fall is the perfect time for golf in Las Vegas, with glorious weather almost guaranteed. Tee times for the course are bookable up to 120 days in advance, giving you plenty of time to plan a return trip to Vegas. (Serket also offers Stay & Play partnerships with several Las Vegas hotels.) If you are making golf a focus of your trip, playing both Serket and Cascata within five days means saving a little on your rate. After playing (or before), Janelas Restaurant & Bar offers salads, burgers, breakfast and more. You can also grab a quick bite at the Serket Snack Bar, which opens half an hour before the first tee time.

“Through Cabot-Managed Properties, our mission is to continually elevate the properties within our portfolio, ensuring each destination delivers an exceptional golf experience that reflects its unique character,” said Cowan-Dewar.
