If you haven’t seen Janet Jackson’s Las Vegas Strip residency yet, there’s not much time left, as the superstar wraps her successful run with just six shows remaining—Sept. 10, 13-14, 17 and 19-20. And for fans of hers, this is a show that can’t be missed. Think astonishing visuals, fashionable ’fits, smooth moves and more than 40 hits.
That’s right, we said 40! The singer uses medleys to seamlessly move from favorites like “2nite” and “Slolove” to chart toppers like “Escapade” and “What Have You Done For Me Lately” (spoken word intro included). And you might find yourself thinking, “That’s got to be close to her entire discography, right?” Not even close. The songstress has released more than 150 album tracks across all her studio albums, including 70 singles!
And this show is oh so fun to watch. The scenery changes every few songs, and everything on the stage is dynamic, meaning there’s always something new to look at—not that you’ll be able to look away from Jackson herself. Not only is she strikingly beautiful with honey blonde curls and glittery makeup, but the icon’s dance moves are mesmerizing and seemingly effortless, yet also impossible to replicate, other than by the talented dance crew Jackson graciously shares the stage with, of course.
It’s hard to tell who’s working harder, the wardrobe department or the wind machine operators, because they both have the chanteuse looking absolutely fine. With each outfit change comes a stylish masterpiece, usually accented by chunky boots and visual elements that flow with the gusts of air that push back Jackson’s hair (and hopefully keep her cool). What’s particularly fun about the costuming is each piece is very Janet and pays homage to ’80s and ’90s looks, but is also so chic and modern.
