Fans got an exciting peek at star Bruno Mars during a parade up the Las Vegas Strip on April 10 before the star headed out to Allegiant Stadium to kick off The Romantic Tour, the first since the extensive 24K Magic Tour ended in 2018. The parade featured musicians, marching band, a drum cadre, a massive Elvis float along with a troupe of Elvis impersonators, buses with the Raiderettes and Vegas Golden Knights, classic cars and trucks, a Bruno Mars x Hello Kitty themed bus, mariachi bands, Anderson .Paak in a convertible, the Hooligans, and Bruno Mars himself in his own pink convertible with showgirls.

After the energetic parade proceeded up the newly named Bruno Mars Drive, located between New York-New York and Park MGM, a fanfare-filled ceremony was held at Toshiba Plaza, where a shoulder-to-shoulder crowd cheered as .Paak introduced Mars before Clark County officials declared April 10 “Bruno Mars Day” and announced that the former Park Avenue is now Bruno Mars Drive. That’s an honor reserved for those the city has a special relationship with, like Elvis and the Rat Pack’s Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr.

During the event, Bill Hornbuckle, the CEO and president of MGM Resorts International, also spoke about Mars' impact on Las Vegas, saying, "Everyday here is Bruno Mars Day in Las Vegas," and that Mars is a local hero. Nevada governor Joe Lombardo gifted him a ceremonial state flag, saying Vegas prides itself on reinvention and thanked him for kicking off the new world tour in Las Vegas, while Clark County Commissioner Jim Gibson awarded Mars with a special proclamation declaring the day Bruno Mars Day, and giving him a key to the Las Vegas Strip. Mars thanked the crowd and the city before reading a text message from his dad that exhorted him to be humble. And proving that the star has a special relationship with Vegas—he has been performing here for more than a decade and even has his own lounge at Bellagio, The Pinky Ring by Bruno Mars—Mars announced a special donation of $1,000,000 to Las Vegas Children's hospital, which he said MGM Resorts would match.

And then Mars and the Hooligans took the stage, giving a mini concert for the crowd!

If you’re headed to Allegiant for a show this weekend (and lucky you, if you are, as tickets sold out early), check out the merch—Mars partnered with Hello Kitty in a pop-up at Mandalay Bay for T-shirts, hoodies, stickers and more, and they are super cute!
