Take a moment away from the bright lights and dinging of the slot machines and step outside for a dose of nature. Did you know there are 4 acres of lush land right on the Las Vegas Strip where animals roam free? And it’s all free to view at Flamingo. Bring the fam to the Wildlife Habitat, where gardens, streams, waterfalls and greenery are the backdrop to a home of exotic birds, turtles and fish.
Break out the camera and snap pics of the stars of the habitat—the flock of beautifully pink, long-legged Chilean flamingos. Joining them are exotic waterfowl, brown pelicans and local songbirds and hummingbirds. Look to the waters and spot swimming inhabitants like sturgeon, koi, albino catfish and more.
At 10 a.m. daily, keepers of the wildlife habitat will be on hand to answer any questions and fill guests in on the life of inhabitants of the sanctuary. Learn all about diets, quirks, anatomy and fun facts of each animal and reptile and watch feedings and maintenance of the expansive grounds.
Stroll along winding paths and take a moment of peace and reflection for the new year by taking a seat on the many benches spread throughout the habitat. The Wildlife Habitat is open for viewing beginning at 7 a.m. through 8 p.m. No reservations or tickets are required to enter.
