When Jessica Garcia wants something she goes after it, giving 110 percent. So far, it has paid off.

For example, take her current position as model cocktail server for Hakkasan at MGM Grand. Before the club opened its doors in 2013, the Las Vegas native went through a rigorous interview process. Hundreds and hundreds of women applied over the two weeks of auditions. After she was offered the position, “I was over the moon,” Garcia said. “When I got that phone call, I screamed.”

Working at one of the city’s hottest nightclubs has been a dream for Garcia. Not only does the reputation of Hakkasan carry clout in the industry, but Garcia also gets to see some of the world’s hottest DJs perform, all while taking care of her VIP guests. “I provide excellent customer service for my tables and make sure my guests have the best time when they come to Hakkasan.” Garcia said. “Plus, we have the best DJs performing!” She’s even seen her favorite DJ, Calvin Harris, perform.

In addition to her success at Hakkasan, Garcia has started competing in fitness shows. She entered her first competition last November. “It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life,” she said. “But it showed me how hard I was able to push myself.” Garcia placed first in the novice class and third overall.

“When I want something I work really hard,” she said. “I bring my A-game.”

Before hitting Hakkasan’s main dance floor in the club portion of the multi-story venue, head to the Ling Ling Lounge or to the restaurant’s bar and enjoy some handcrafted, delicious cocktails. One of the signature cocktails, Agave No. 8, is perfect for the upcoming spring season. The sweet libation mixes together Herradura reposado tequila, Grand Marnier, fresh-squeezed lime juice, blood orange juice and cinnamon. Other cocktails on the list not to be missed: The Hakka, Lychee Martini and Ling Ling Sling.
