Before Kristen Levine moved to Las Vegas, she spent some time indulging her free spirit. “You know that saying ‘the beauty of doing nothing,’ well, that’s what I did,” she said.

After college, Levine moved to Maui for a few months; from there she moved to San Pedro, Calif., where she lived on a 24-foot boat, spending her time sailing and writing poetry. After a year of wanderlust, she decided it was time to get back to work, so in August she moved to Las Vegas.

Once here, she decided she wanted to work at a pool club. Levine landed her audition for Bare Pool at The Mirage, where you’ll find her today, working her first season as a model cocktail server. “The audition was definitely intimidating,” said the Florida native. “But when I got the call I got the job, it felt great. ... Still to this day, I don’t know how I got chosen. Doing my runway walk, I walked the wrong way and just started talking. I kind of broke the mold. I think I just stuck out, in a good way.”

Perhaps they picked up on her welcoming vibe. “I feel like I’m not intimidating by any means,” she said. And that translates perfectly to the guests she takes care of at the Euro-pean-style pool. “It’s not just cocktail serving; it’s getting to know your guests.”

Levine’s spirit seems happy. “When I think about Vegas, I love the fantasy of it,” she said. “It’s like no matter what, someone is out there having the time of their life.”
