If you find yourself heading to Topgolf Las Vegas, think about requesting bay host Julian Marquez to take care of you for the day.
“Whenever our guests come through and get into a bay, I provide them with an experience that they’ll never forget,” says the Kansas City, Mo., native. “I make them laugh; I give them entertainment; I teach them a little bit about golf; I encourage them to have fun. I also get their food and drink orders. I guide them through the best possible time.”
Now, Marquez will be the first to admit, “I am the best ‘Topgolfer’ you’ll ever meet, but I am the worst golfer you’ll ever see,” he says, laughing. But Marquez really does know how to work his swing and holes-in-one at the high-tech driving range and entertainment complex; he helped open the Las Vegas location of Topgolf and also worked for a couple of years at the Topgolf location in his home state.

When it comes to any type of sports, you can count Marquez in. “I’m a competitor at heart,” he says. “I love competing. … Forms of martial arts, forms of sports have helped guide me to be a better person.” Especially mixed martial arts, he says. Besides his bay host position, Marquez currently competes in the UFC middleweight division—his next fight is July 6 at the Palms. “Being a competitor and striving for the best—it’s something that I love and I wouldn’t give it up for nothing,” he says.
Being in the spotlight as an MMA fighter has helped Marquez excel at his Topgolf position—he’s very personable, and guests quickly become friends. “If you ever catch me at Topgolf, request me. We’ll have a great time.”

Besides the air-conditioned hitting bays, guests at Topgolf can cool off at the Hideaway Pool. On the third-floor pool deck, guests can book a poolside cabana or hitting bay, enjoy the swim-up bar and catch the latest sports on the 28-foot HD video wall. The pool is also the perfect place to enjoy Topgolf’s delicious specialty cocktails like the refreshing Strawberry Basil Lemonade, made with Tito’s Handmade vodka, Strawberry Reàl strawberry-infused syrup, Finest Call premium citrus sour, fresh strawberries, basil, lemon and Sprite.
