Datrus Folmer is getting ready for O’Sheas’ biggest party of the year. “St. Patrick’s Day, wow, from the moment I walk in it’s like fighting my way through the crowd,” said the O’Sheas bartender. “And once I go on that bar I don’t leave—it’s nonstop crazy!”

On March 17, stop by the rocking Irish pub located at The Linq Hotel and celebrate the holiday in true wild style—and you’ll be able to spot Folmer behind the bar, and sometimes on top of the bar, pouring shots. But it’s not only on St. Patrick’s Day that O’Sheas is worth a visit. “People come here all throughout the year to have fun,” she said.

Folmer has been bartending at O’Sheas since it opened its doors, and to this day, her favorite part is “all the people that I meet from all over the world,” she said.

Before she was a bartender, she did bottle service and go-go dancing at some of the city’s hottest bars, but about five years ago she switched gears and got into bartending, because “you really get to interact with people on a more personal level,” she said.

But there’s more to Folmer than just bartending—she’s an accomplished costume designer. She’s made costumes for some Strip shows and plans to pursue a masters degree with her sights set on Broadway. “I love making costumes; it’s very relaxing and stress relieving.” Something she’ll definitely need once her St. Patrick’s Day shift is over!

Frozen Baileys

If you like milkshakes—thick, creamy, sweet milkshakes—don’t pass up this O’Sheas specialty cocktail, the Frozen Baileys. The drink has the consistency of a milkshake and the benefits of a cocktail—Baileys Irish Cream, specialty cappuccino liqueur, heavy cream and ice are blended together and topped with whipped cream. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day on March 17, O’Sheas plans a full day of festivities, kicking off at 9 a.m. Live performances, parade, bagpipers, leprechauns, celebrity guests and a beer pong challenge are just some of the fun that partiers can enjoy from morning to late in the evening.
