The other day Gabriel Hewitt hung around Brad Pitt and Jennifer Lopez. The day before that, Britney Spears, Johnny Depp and Will Smith, and before that, George Clooney, The Rock and Gwen Stefani. Hewitt is the general manager for Madame Tussauds at The Venetian, and every day he gets to hang out with all the wax-figure stars one can imagine.

“It’s a true-life fame experience the minute you walk in,” Hewitt said. “It’s interactive and an up-close-and-personal experience.” And, in the less than two years since Hewitt joined the wax museum, he’s created two more fun experiences that have become instant hits.

“Two figures that I helped make happen were Steve Aoki—he actually came out and caked his own wax figure (and) the other is the Khloe Kardashian figure—it’s turned into one of the best Instagram moments in the place,” Hewitt said.

Hewitt has taken his 20 years of experience in the food and beverage industry—he’s been both a bartender and manager of restaurants and bars in and around the Dallas area—and has applied his knowledge of customers wants and needs to the Madame Tussauds attraction. He’s also found success with another new portion of the wax museum he recently launched—the Hangover Bar. Adding to the already-in-place Hangover Experience, based on the comedy movie franchise, he created all the cocktails and designed the bar, which re-creates the rooftop of Caesars Palace where the movie’s shenanigans begin.

And Hewitt isn’t done yet. “The 2019 wax figures are going to make a major splash with the figures we’re selecting. We’re also doing an in-memory figure—we’re going to bring them back to life!”

Winding your way through Madame Tussauds is one celebrity photo-op after another, but, one of the coolest is definitely The Hangover Experience and new Hangover Bar. Hang with Alan, Phil and Mike Tyson while sipping on the fun themed cocktails like the popular Tiger’s Blood. The sweet, fruity-tasting cocktail is mixed with Bacardi and Malibu rums, blue curaçao, grenadine, lime juice and club soda. You can also order fun shots like the 3 Leg Monkey and the Wolf Pack, which is a straight shot of Jägermeister, and there are beer and wine selections, too.
