Anjila Jarvis’ two careers combine to create a happy whole. During the week she’s a certified personal trainer specializing in circuit-style training. From Friday to Sunday she’s a model cocktail server at one of the city’s longest-running dayclubs, Wet Republic at MGM Grand.

“I love it because, in one aspect, the training is my healthy way of helping people; and then here, at Wet Republic, is my fun way of helping people—it’s a good balance,” says the Salt Lake City native.

Jarvis has a lifelong relationship with fitness, and decided to get certified as a trainer late last year. This year, she’s celebrating her fifth season with Wet Republic. When she moved to Las Vegas seven years ago, she worked in Hakkasan Group’s (owners of several nightclubs and dayclubs including Wet Republic) corporate offices as an executive assistant. Eventually she decided to take a cocktail server position at Hakkasan nightclub for a short time before switching to the dayclub.

As a model cocktail server, Jarvis tends to guests throughout the dayclub, especially parties that book the cabanas and bungalows. “The biggest part of my job is creating a good time for people,” she says. “Some people save up their whole life to get here, so people come here every weekend—and it’s my job to create that unforgettable experience for them every time.”

While working out at the gym was originally a way for her to get some “me time” in, she says, “it brought positive mental health as well as physical health. And I thought if I can bring that to other people and their lives and show them what it does for me, then I feel like I’m succeeding in life.”

While Jarvis is celebrating her fifth season with Wet Republic, the dayclub celebrates its 12th anniversary with a host of festivities including special performances by Chantel Jeffries (May 3), Zedd (May 4), and Martin Garrix with Justin Mylo (May 5). Join in on the celebration with a little bubbly cocktail in hand, like the Moët Afternoon Ice, a sweet and refreshing blend of Moët and Chandon Ice Imperial Champagne, grapefruit juice, St-Germain elderflower liqueur and mint. –KM
