For Christal Garcia, general manager of Pawsh Palace, dogs are a passion in both her work life and her home life.
Growing up in Oregon, she dedicated a lot of her time to volunteering at animal foundations, and when she moved to Las Vegas in 2015 she continued that dedication. While she has spent more than a decade in retail management, by 2019 she finally turned her love for dogs into a career when she joined Pawsh Palace.
“Pawsh Palace is a five-star dog hotel,” Garcia says. “We’re not like a lot of facilities that put the dogs in kennels, we have open play for them. We don’t have breed restrictions. … We send photos of clients’ dogs, which they love. We have a staff overnight, so someone is always there. We take them outside to play and can comfort them all night.”
Since it’s summer, the Pawsh Palace crew even breaks out the pools, splash pads and bubbles for the dogs to play in. The facility offers four different levels of boarding, from standard rooms all the way up to big suites with extra amenities.
When Garcia is not sharing her time with dogs at work, she’s sharing her time with her two wolf-rottweiler breeds at home. “They are the sweetest things ever,” she says. They also act as service dogs for her son, who has autism—Garcia personally trained them both. She also created her own line of dog treats out of necessity when she discovered that the store-bought treats she was giving her two dogs made them sick. “I just love dogs,” she says. “Everything about them; they’re such a comfort.”

Customers can purchase Pawsh Palace-branded accessories, toys and treats in addition to Christal Garcia’s own line of treats, Tail Waggin’ dog cookies. If you don’t necessarily want to board your dog, Pawsh also offers grooming, hair drying, teeth cleaning, nail clipping and more. The luxurious doggy facility is open 365 days a year.
