Kevin Skagen has worked at Golden Nugget for nearly two decades. “I’m very happy with my career,” he says. “I’m very happy with the time I’ve been here at the Golden Nugget. I feel like I’ve grown up here and been raised by the Golden Nugget in a way. I love hospitality; I love crafting experiences for our guests and making sure they have a good time.”

And, today, he does that by working at the property’s famed pool, The Tank, as the pool general manager. Before he joined the pool, Skagen worked the front desk and box office, but he’s found his calling being by the waters and outdoors.

“The fast-paced environment—I like to keep busy and on my toes and not be in the office the whole time,” Skagen says. “I love the staff and working with them. We’re all lifeguard certified so we’Il jump right in with the lifeguard team. I definitely get my hands dirty. I jump into the operations. I’m out here on the deck helping out. I like to be outside, and I like to keep busy.”

You can find Skagen interacting with guests throughout the day, and during the pool’s summertime Night Swim parties every Friday and Saturday. “It’s a good mix of locals and tourists. It’s just a big pool party!” he says. It’s free and open to those 21+, so come on down and enjoy DJs, cocktails, swimming and more!

“I think we have the coolest pool in Vegas; it’s hard to compete with our amenities,” Skagen sums up.
