What was the biggest obstacle you had to overcome to become the person you wanted to be—and how did you do it?

Being in the entertainment business, I deal with obstacles every day. They are all easily overcome simply by staying focused. On a personal level, I have been very lucky. I’ve never had something get in the way of my career. I guess I kind of set my life up that way. I’ve always known what I wanted to do for a living. I’ve always made sure to surround myself with the most positive situations and people that I possibly could. Of course, now and then, a wrench gets thrown into the machine and you have to deal with it.

I guess the biggest obstacle that I’ve had to overcome is just learning who I was exactly on a personal level. I knew the career I wanted, but I’ve changed so much over the years. Sometimes finding out who you are hurts others around you because they wanted you to be someone else. I’ve always been one to try to please everyone around me. I think I’ve finally come to a point in my life that I feel like I have a good grasp of who I am and who I want to be as a person. I use my time and energy now focusing back on my music, which is what I know best.
