When Drake collaborated with Future on “Where Ya At” from Future’s album DS2 last year, little did we know it would be the start of something greater. That record paved the way for their highly successful collaborative mixtape What a Time to Be Alive, which debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart in late 2015.
Now the two are taking 2016 by storm. Drake’s promotional single “Summer Sixteen,” released months prior to his latest album Views, set a record for the highest debut sales of his career with more than 215,000 downloads in its first week. It’s no wonder why he chose to name his current tour after the single. Expect songs from Views including “Hotline Bling” and “One Dance,” plus ones that put him on the map: “Best I Ever Had” and “The Motto” to the more recent “Started from the Bottom.”
Switching gears, Future had not one but two releases this year: A new album, Evol, and mixtape Purple Reign. His hits over the years include “Same Damn Time,” “Move That Dope” and "F*ck Up Some Commas,” and major collaborations with artists like DJ Khaled. Drake and Future together makes for one of the hottest concerts of the summer ... all Summer Sixteen.
