Whether you’re looking for a little aviation nostalgia or want to try several dishes in one swoop, the newly opened Flights restaurant in Las Vegas definitely has the ticket for you. In the heart of Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort, Flight elevates traditional bar food, adding the fun element of flights of food and drink, plus tapas-style appetizers and shareable entrees in a dining room decorated by an overhead airplane.

Drinks come in several forms, from fun, signature flights that let you experiment with everything from frozen margaritas to spins on an Old-Fashioned—have you ever tried an orange one? They’re perfect to order with a group, so everyone can take turns guessing the flavors. If you’re a beer or spirits fan, there are flights for those, too, from tequila and bourbon to local craft brews. Craft cocktails have aviation-inspired names like the Red Baron, the Frequent Flyer and The Wing Man, a vodka, strawberry and Aperol sip with a beautiful pink color and a light flavor.

After you’ve wet your whistle, try whetting your appetite with a few threesomes or small bites. Ceviche comes with different types of seafood featured—salmon, tuna and shrimp. The baba ganoush has that lovely, smoky flavor that goes so well with pita, and the hummus and tzatziki are pretty rocking, too. French fry flights feature a smoky version accented with a slight sweetness, one with herbs and one that wafts the heady fragrance of truffles. The Stix are one of the more popular items, skewers of Thai chicken, ancho shrimp and chimichurri beef. The whole menu is well marked, with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options clearly delineated, so no one will feel left out.

There are some real stand-outs with the Bites section of the menu, and it’s a little funny how they seem simple until you taste them. The street corn tostadas are one bite indeed, a little tortilla chip mounded with elote-style corn, a light dollop of avocado mousse and a sprinkling of cotija cheese. Looking and feeling like tator tots are the truffle and Parmesan croquettes, but with potatoes prepared in-house (no frozen wonders here!) and a truffle crema atop, the flavor is exceptional. It may be tempting to try to sneak these one after another without your dining companions noticing, but trust us, they’ll notice. Sliders come in several varieties, from banh mi to Beyond Meat, and Soyrizo street tacos add a spicy element.

If it seems like too much snackage for you, fire up an entrée. Strip steak, a light smoked paprika-dusted salmon, ancho barbecue shrimp and crispy chicken breast offer plenty of choice. And, of course, you can always share those, too.

If you’re tempted to skip dessert, don’t! Each table has a call button to summon your attendant for service, payment or sweets. Try beignets or reversed cheesecake flights—the graham cracker crust is a great first bite. And the Chocolate Dive Bomber sundae marries two great flavors, vanilla and chocolate with a molten lava cake, vanilla ice cream and both dark chocolate and vanilla sauces. Sure, you could share your sundae, but, really, don’t you need to draw the line somewhere?
