Buddy “The Cake Boss” Valastro is known for his reality television show with his family, numerous cookbooks and, of course, the family’s renowned Carlo's Bakery. The chef opened Buddy V’s Ristorante in The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian and The Palazzo to much acclaim. Partnering in the venture with him are longtime friends and veteran restaurateurs Elizabeth Blau and chef Kim Canteenwalla, who assist in both operational and creative aspects of the restaurant.

Valastro, despite a busy schedule, visits Buddy V’s often, making menu changes and keeping offerings innovative, paying homage to his heritage. Recently new menu items were added, ranging from seasonal dishes to family recipes that are delightfully pleasing.

Guests can relax in the welcoming bar and lounge featuring magnificent views of the Las Vegas strip through large almost floor-to-ceiling windows. For the hot summer months, the new Italian Sunset specialty cocktail is the perfect way to quench your thirst. Stoli Razberi, lychee and strawberry all marry nicely, creating a refreshing experience. Also on the list is a Valastro family favorite—The Cake Boss, featuring Pinnacle Cake vodka, Chocolat Royal liqueur and Bailey’s Irish Cream, making it an excellent choice before or after a meal. There are plenty of beverage choices featuring Stella Cidre, Guinness Draught and Brookyn Lager, just to name a few. For the oenophiles, there are many Italian options such as Super Tuscan, Barolo, Amarone and Chianti Classico wines by the glass and bottle.

The perfect way to start your meal may be the Toscano salad. Fresh baby arugula with hand-shaved prosciutto, roasted tomatoes, artichokes and lemon vinaigrette sprinkled with pecorino Romano is a brilliant way to get the meal off to a great start. Baby kale and vegetable salad is chockful with beets, artichoke, zucchini, cranberries and almonds. Grilled octopus is new to the menu and full of perfectly grilled octopus, pepperonata, lemon and rich capers, all on a bed of an arugula and citrus salad.

For an authentic Valastro family dish, My Mother In Law’s Linguine Shrimp Scampi featuring tomatoes, spinach, garlic, white wine, lemon, and pecorino makes you feel like you are dining with the familia. You can literally taste generations of love in this classic dish. Nona’s Lasagna al Forno includes beef, sausage and pork with provolone, mozzarella and ricotta cheeses. For the carnivores in the family, the decadent osso buco has returned to the menu with a healthy serving of Parmesan polenta, natural jus and gremolata, all combining to bring layers of flavors to your awaiting palate.

An authentic, creamy New York cheesecake and a cappuccino is a nice way to put a period on the end of the meal with “The Cake Boss” and his family recipes.
