On and Off the Strip: Manzo, Side Piece Pizza and Fat Black Pussycat
On the Strip: Manzo
Manzo means “beef,” but that doesn’t mean that this artisanal experience located inside Eataly Las Vegas (Park MGM, 702.730.7646) is simply another steakhouse on the Strip. Manzo is an Italian butcher’s restaurant offering the highest-quality ingredients whether you’re eating meat, seafood, vegetables or pasta.
It starts with a cocktail like the Bull’s Eye, a twist on the Old-Fashioned with pancetta-washed Templeton Rye, or perhaps something more brisk like the Negroni Bianco. Share charred octopus with salsa verde and burrata before moving on to the 42-ounce dry-aged ribeye “Appesa” from Creekstone Farms in Kansas, a remarkable cut slow-roasted on Manzo’s three-tiered wood-fired grill.
Surround this prized bite with heirloom beans in duck drippings, grilled asparagus with crispy prosciutto di Parma and broccoli rabe with garlic, lemon and oven-dried tomatoes. Manzo offers fabulous feasts of the highest order, curated to your preferences. –Brock Radke
Off the Strip: Side Piece Pizza
There’s no better way to polish off a night of Vegas partying than to grab a hot slice and a cold beer. If you’ve been dancing and drinking all night at a hot new night spot like Kaos or Apex Social Club, you can get your nosh nightcap without leaving the building. Side Piece Pizza (Palms, 702.944.5969), a quick-and-easy extension of Greene St. Kitchen, offers New York-style or Sicilian pizza by the slice, a simple and delicious remedy for your late-night predicament. Wash down that crispy, cheesy goodness with an icy PBR or a local Big Dog’s lager, or upgrade to rosé in a can. –Brock Radke
#trending: Fat Black Pussycat
The Comedy Cellar in New York City is renowned for premiering stand-up comedy’s most well-known names. The outpost in Las Vegas has already made a name for itself with equally large laughs, plus tasty food and drinks at the adjacent Fat Black Pussycat (Rio, 702.777.2782). Eat before you take your seat or have your food delivered to the club, choosing from the Oh Kale No salad with Caesar dressing or a selection of wood-fired flatbreads. For dessert, try the I Cannoli Take It for So Long. –Genevie Durano
