When you think of having a cup of tea, the vision you have really depends on what you like the most—traditional style English tea with fancy cups, Starbucks monster teas or the sweet, sweet milk teas that have become so wildly popular in the last few years. Here in Vegas, there are many, many options for all those and every shop or tea room has a league of fans waiting in line for their opportunity to sip or slurp. Reservations are required at any sit-down establishment.

On the Strip, there are several options for traditional English-style teas, like the Tea Lounge at the five-star Waldorf Astoria (702.590.8888). Here, 23rd-story views provide a backdrop for a spread of petite sandwiches, scones and tea desserts, plus pots of gourmet teas by the company Tealeaves, which tests for herbicides and pesticides in its products. You can add on sparkling mimosas, Bellinis and sparkling wines, too. Afternoon tea seatings are Wednesday through Saturday, with several time slots for each one, and children’s menus are available. From Dec. 15-27, it is open every day!

Petrossian Bar & Lounge (Bellagio, 702.693.7111) offers tea service on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, serving a variety of sandwiches (with an option to add caviar) while a talented pianist tickles the ivories for your pleasure.

Off the Strip, you’ll find tea service and beautiful surroundings at such places as The Tea Terrace (6830 S. Rainbow Blvd., No. 140, 702.931.0562), which offers several options for English-style tea, from the Queen’s tea to the vegan Duchess’ tea, each replete with finger sandwiches, scones, petite desserts and a pot of tea.

Gäbi Coffee and Bakery (5808 Spring Mountain Road, No. 104, 702.331.1144) channels the look of a 1920s Korean coffee and teahouse—it even has a greenhouse inside! Tea is served in fancy pots and cups, although you can get your drinks to go.

All around Las Vegas, the milk tea scene has exploded and there are lots of places to get a sweet treat and picture-perfect drink in one. Head to Feng Cha Teahouse (5845 Spring Mountain Road, No. 8, 702.685.9969) for colorful fruit teas, classic milk teas with boba and all sorts of variations, like the creme brûlée dirty boba, where the top is caramelized with a torch!

At insanely popular takeout-only bubble tea spot Tiger Sugar (5150 Spring Mountain Road, No. 10, 702.272.0442), the line seems to stretch a mile. The signature brown sugar tea is concocted with fresh cream—the pattern up the sides is striking! Get pearls in there for mini boba goodness.

La Luna Tea + Dessert Bar (7960 S. Rainbow Blvd., No. 8000F, 702.405.0061) features all kinds of teas and desserts, and one of the cutest things ever—a doggy-shaped mousse.

Travel to La Postté (4510 W. Spring Mountain Road, 702.405.0041), and you’ll also find the best of both worlds, with high tea serving up sandwiches, pastries and hot tea, plus a ton of light fruit teas and boba teas. The décor here is cute, with postcards covering the walls!

For a slightly different take on milk tea, try Ding Tea (4725 Spring Mountain Road, 702.998.7510), an import from Cali that offers a large range of freshly made and shaken teas, plus several varieties of Yakult, like passion fruit, lychee, mango and strawberry, all of which are made with yogurt rich in probiotics.

But the craze for milk teas doesn’t end there. Tea Maison (4284 Spring Mountain Road, No. 108, 702.954.4613) and Brew Tea (7380 S. Rainbow Blvd., No. 101, 702.685.5889) each have die-hard fans, with Tea Maison known for fruit teas and Brew Tea Bar for brown sugar milk tea.

No. 1 Boba Tea has locations all across the Las Vegas Valley, including downtown in Container Park (707 Fremont St. No. 1090, 702.268.7382). If you’re vegan, they have an extensive menu for you.

And to get in some shopping, as well as a well-deserved break, stop in at Fashion Show’s Kung Fu Tea location (702.464.3144) and customize to your heart’s content.
