MGM Resorts is back at full strength on the Las Vegas Strip after reopening its final shuttered property, Park MGM, on Sept. 30. When this sparkling casino resort completed a wholesale renovation and rebranding in late 2018 and early 2019, it emerged as a unique alternative with highly stylized and diverse culinary options. Leading the way as Park MGM returns to glory is the vast food and wine marketplace Eataly (702.730.7617), offering everything you could ever want in Italian flavors. Eataly’s casual, sit-down, indoor-outdoor restaurant La Pizza La Pasta is also back online in addition to many of the vendors in the street food-style plaza.
Also at Park MGM, Chicago transplant Bavette’s Steakhouse & Bar (702.730.6700) is ready to make your evening very special with its creative craft cocktails, classic appetizers, chilled seafood platters and prime beef.
And for breakfast, lunch or brunch, head to Primrose (702.730.6600) for sparkling rosé on the garden-style, poolside patio and indulge in brioche French toast or truffle carbonara strozzapreti pasta.
Two wildly popular dining destinations reopened recently at The Venetian. Buddy V’s Ristorante (702.607.2355) at The Grand Canal Shoppes serves some of the most craveable Italian comfort cuisine in Las Vegas and tops the experience with some of “Cake Boss” Buddy Valastro’s iconic dessert creations. Meanwhile, a legendary experience returns: Tao (702.388.8338) reopened on Oct. 1 just in time to celebrate its 15th anniversary as a game-changing dining and nightlife experience on the Strip. The Asian bistro is welcoming back guests clamoring for sushi and sashimi, dim sum, chicken satay, miso-glazed sea bass and other menu favorites.
Off the Strip, it’s all about football. Locals are beyond excited to welcome the Las Vegas Raiders to the city and they’re celebrating with stay-home watch parties fueled by those favorite takeout and delivery game-day foods, pizza and wings. The newest pizza spot to take the neighborhood by storm is Gemma Gemma’s Square Pies (702.323.6033), which operates out of the popular Graffiti Bao Chinese kitchen in the southwest valley. Crispy and light Sicilian-style pizza is the name of the game here, and don’t forget to tack on a double order of garlic-Parmesan chicken wings.
If hearty, northeastern pies are what you crave—or if you’re a Buffalo Bills fan—your Vegas spot is Naked City Pizza Shop (702.722.2241), with three convenient locations around town. Game day combo takeout deals pair pizzas with some of the best wings in the city, and Naked City’s sub sandwiches hit the spot too. If you need variety to satisfy the varying appetites on your roster, Pizza Rock (702.385.0838) has stores downtown and in Henderson and is constantly cooking up something for everyone. No other local eatery has Italian, New York, Chicago and Detroit-style pizzas on the menu.
You can’t talk pizza in Las Vegas without mentioning Metro Pizza (702.736.1955), a 40-year-strong institution with five locations sprinkled throughout the city. Generations of locals call Metro home and keep coming back for high-quality pizza, appetizers, salads, pasta, calzones and more. Take our advice and try the 86th Street Square Pie, a Sicilian-Brooklyn hybrid pan pizza with creamy mozzarella and sharp Romano, slow-simmered tomato sauce and a drizzle of olive oil on a crunchy, pillowy crust like nothing you’ve ever tasted.
