The classic steakhouse is practically a part of America’s DNA. They are absolutely everywhere countrywide, and they all have one thing in common: A salad, a steak, a baked potato and a side that usually includes seasonal veggies. But that’s where the similarities end; not all steakhouses are created equal, which is why the Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse in Houston, Texas, is routinely voted one of the best in the United States. And it has ported over all the things that make it magnificent to the Las Vegas outpost downtown.

The well-appointed room is the first thing that strikes you, followed quickly by the friendliness of your servers. Order a classic cocktail like an Old-Fashioned or Manhattan and get ready for an unforgettable meal.

You could go the Caesar salad route, but consider ordering the pear and saga blue cheese salad, flavored with candied pecans and teardrop tomatoes in a creamy vinaigrette, or caprese with house-made mozzarella, balsamic and basil.

Steaks include filet mignon, prime New York strip, prime ribeye, prime porterhouse and tomahawk. You may want to seriously consider pairing your steak with your choice of Maine lobster, Alaskan king crag legs or cold-water Australian rock lobster tail. And sides include classics like wild mushrooms, asparagus, lobster mac and cheese and heirloom carrots. Us? We gotta go with the baked potato (loaded, naturally).
