Also our newest restaurant, Pisces Bar & Seafare, which celebrates the cuisine of the Mediterranean coast. It’s the perfect spot for dinner. Finally, we move on to cocktails. Adjacent to Pisces is Aft Cocktail Deck, which offers creative drinks and mocktails and serene visual shows over the water at our Lake of Dreams.
What is your go-to lunch spot, both on and off the Strip?
On Strip: Again, it’s got to be Wazuzu at Encore. Off Strip: Good Pie, which I consider to be a contender for best pizza in Las Vegas. I highly recommend any of their Detroit-style pizza but especially the Triple Pep.
Name some of your favorite steakhouses and why.
Herbs and Rye is a must for classic American & Italian fare plus handcrafted cocktails served in a dim, moody restaurant. And not only are their steaks amazing, but they feature an all-day happy hour every day of the week.
What spots are great to grab a late-night drink?
Starboard Tack is often described as “Your Bartender’s favorite bar.” They pair classic cocktails with eclectic comfort food in a laidback watering hole with a retro vibe. You also can’t go wrong with Frankie’s Tiki Room—a cozy, kitschy tiki bar with creative, fruit-based rum drinks, hand-carved furniture & bamboo décor.
What great restaurants are open 24 hours a day?
McMullan's Irish Pub is an independent family owned and operated restaurant that has served Las Vegas for nearly 20 years. They are open 24/7 and offer a fantastic, authentic menu of Irish & English cuisine and ale. They pride themselves on being “The Purveyor of the Perfect Pint.”
Where is there to go to listen to live music?
Brooklyn Bowl at The Linq Promenade is my go-to. Aside from the live music, they also have a lounge with 30-plus bowling lanes. You can catch a show, knock down some pins and grab a bit to eat all in one spot.
Where can a guest go to get their hair and makeup done?
The Salon at Wynn is a must if you’re staying on the Strip. There you can enjoy an intimate makeover setting, complete with beautiful pool views. They specialize in exceptional cuts, color and rejuvenating beauty treatments and a have a full-service barbershop for men.
What are some of your favorite wedding chapels?
Not a chapel, but my favorite wedding venue is Lakeside Weddings & Events. They offer wedding garden and chapel venues, full-service wedding planning, on-site vendors, and an indoor wedding reception hall, and the venue overlooks a beautiful man-made lake.
What spots on the Strip can the whole family enjoy?
Swingers Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay, under 21 welcome until 5 p.m. It’s a great new way to play miniature golf. The atmosphere is like a club from the entrance and throughout. They also offer carnival games, street food, and cocktails for mom and dad!
What are some top romantic dinner spots?
Lip Smacking Foodie Tours offers a foodie tour called Savory Bites & Neon Lights, which takes guests to three to four of the hottest restaurants in the city, and then caps off the night with a breathtaking helicopter tour over the Las Vegas Strip provided by Maverick Helicopters.
Can you share some speakeasy spots and how to get in?
The Laundry Room is a nostalgic little hideaway tucked inside Commonwealth. They are an internationally acclaimed speakeasy with a very exclusive admission process. Only 22 guests are allowed at any given time to allow their master cocktail craftsmen to tailor a unique experience for each and every guest.
Are there any spots that offer dinner and a show?
Tournament of Kings at Excalibur is an oldie but a goodie, especially if Renaissance Faires are your thing! An epic portrayal of skills from centuries past, all in the name of honor, country, & food. Tournament of Kings is perfect for kids & adults of all ages.
What are some of the best pieces of advice that you offer to your guests?
Something that I advise all my clients is to plan a night away from the Strip. I always encourage them to explore the Arts District. The area is really up and coming with wonderful bars like Servehzah, a vibrant little taproom with a love of craft beer and culture, and Velveteen Rabbit, a fantastic haunt offering seasonal craft cocktails menus amid eclectic, vintage décor and music events.
What are three attractions off the Strip that visitors should not miss?
Omega Mart by Meow Wolf, an interactive experience where you explore a bizarre and immersive world where nothing is as it seems. Red Rock Canyon, one of our very own national parks, featuring a number of beautiful trails and hikes. And finally the Neon Museum, the final resting place for hundreds of iconic Old Vegas signs.
What are three of your most-suggested shows to see and why?
Absinthe at Caesars Palace and Atomic Saloon Show at The Venetian are both refreshing, irrepressibly raunchy mixes of jaw-dropping acrobatics & adults-only comedy. But if you’re looking for spectacle, Awakening at Wynn is filled with awe-inspiring characters, costumes, choreography, original music, and a thrilling story.
What are some of the more affordable ways to enjoy Las Vegas?
Tourists come here for the Las Vegas Strip, and it’s world-famous for a reason, but I think there is plenty of charm and wonder to be found downtown. Fantastic restaurants like Carson Kitchen, Esther’s Kitchen and Cornish Pasty have legitimately great food and are less break the bank.
What lounges have the best views of Las Vegas at night?
Skybar at Waldorf was a favorite of mine, but the space has recently been renovated into Hard Shake. Hard Shake is an ode to the art of cocktail creation—where precision, artistry, and boundless imagination converge 23 floors above the luminous allure of the Strip.
What nightclubs offer the best experience for the price?
Not exactly a nightclub, but close—I think Oddfellows downtown is the best experience for the price. It’s an alternative bar and dance club. They also offer themed night for reggaeton, emo and Korean pop music, as well has hosting a weekly karaoke night.
What are some of the best Chinatown eateries?
China Mama in Shanghai Plaza is my current fave. They offer contemporary Chinese fusion with a modern reinterpretation of traditional flavors, along with a high-caliber dining experience through attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere.
What are some of your favorite downtown restaurants and bars?
The Parlour is a new favorite of mine. They serve brunch during the day, but at night Thursday-Saturday they serve burgers based on fast food favorites, but made gourmet. I recommend the Hot Karl, their take on a Western Bacon Cheeseburger. For cocktails, it’s got to be Lucky Day—it’s a beautiful tequila bar with exotic curios and artwork set beneath a stunning canopy of 15,000 LED lights.
What spots transport guests back to old-school Las Vegas?
The Mob Museum is a fantastic interactive exhibit that allows you to step back into when the Mob ran Las Vegas. It resides in a restored historic courthouse downtown. After, I’d recommend visiting the Laundry Room speakeasy, which itself used to be the laundry facility for the El Cortez Casino.
What are some of the most unique spots in Las Vegas?
I think the Neon Museum is one of Vegas’ most slept-on attractions. They display over 250 retired signs from casinos and business and offer a peek into old Vegas. It’s a fantastic way to learn about the city’s history, and it’s strangely beautiful at night.
If you could plan the perfect day in Las Vegas, what would it entail?
I would spend the afternoon with Lip Smacking Foodie Tours. They offer several fantastic food tours during the day (downtown, Arts District, Boozy Brunch). Each one allows you to experience the signature dishes of three to four great restaurants. After, I would spend the evening bar hopping in Fremont East. Lucky Day and Atomic Liquors are both great spots for libations. I’d close out the night at Oddfellows, an alternative music bar and dance spot.
What spots have the best burgers?
My two picks are Fukuburger and With Love Always. Fukuburger specializes in burgers with a Japanese twist, such as Buta Burger, an all-beef patty with bacon, cheese and pickled onions, finished with Japanese barbecue sauce and wasabi mayo. With Love Always is a new addition to the valley specializing in smash burgers. The S.O.B. burger is my personal fave with onion-smashed patties topped with American cheese and pickles. I’d recommend adding jalapeños and bacon.
What restaurants are great for vegans and vegetarians?
Chef Kenny’s Vegan Dim Sum is committed to cooking up some of the best vegan food in the city. They do classic dim dum dishes such as sesame balls, dumplings and egg custard tart,s but made for the meatless eater in mind.
What do you appreciate most about the VEGAS2GO publication?
I appreciate that they have a very handy app to help visitors and locals find dining, events, and activities. I highly recommend downloading the Vegas2Go app, especially if you’re planning your trip on the fly.
What do you and/or your guests find most helpful or useful when using the publication?
Las Vegas has an overwhelming amount of entertainment happening all at once. Vegas2Go is one of the city’s best ways to find out what’s happening and what is worth making time for.
