Three of my favorite offerings at Harrah’s Las Vegas are Ruth’s Chris Steak House, The Piano Bar and Carnaval Court. The Piano Bar is always a lot of fun. They have good karaoke, and people are always singing and having a good time. Ruth’s Chris is a beautiful restaurant that has fantastic food.
What is your go-to lunch spot, both on and off the Strip?
I enjoy having lunch at Egg & I on Sahara Avenue, Kabuki at Town Square Las Vegas and Le Café du Sud in Southern Highlands. Egg & I is a breakfast place that serves a great brunch, and Kabuki is a nice Japanese restaurant I enjoy a lot. Le Café du Sud is a delicious French café that is a great place to socialize, too.
Name some of your favorite steakhouses and why.
A few of my favorite steakhouses in Las Vegas are Ruth’s Chris Steak House at Harrah’s Las Vegas, Peter Luger Steak House at Caesars Palace and Golden Steer Steakhouse on Sahara Avenue. They all have excellent service and great food.
What spots are great to grab a late-night drink?
Some spots to grab a late-night drink are Carnaval Court at Harrah’s Las Vegas and Vanderpump Cocktail Garden at Caesars Palace. Carnaval Court is a fun, late-night spot because you can dance, drink and watch flair bartenders perform while they make cocktails. I’ve also heard a lot of great things about Vanderpump Cocktail Garden, and I’m excited to check that out soon.
What great restaurants are open 24 hours a day?
Peppermill on Las Vegas Boulevard is a personal favorite of mine. I used to be a performer with Siegfried & Roy, and I’ve been in Vegas for a long time. Peppermill has always been there, and I’ve always loved going because it has an old-Vegas vibe. I remember all the entertainers going there back in the day. It’s a nice spot.
Where is there to go to listen to live music?
The Sand Dollar Lounge on Spring Mountain Road is a great place for live music. They sometimes have pop-up events, which are really fun. I also like the Piano Bar at Harrah’s Las Vegas and Le Cabaret Lounge at Paris Las Vegas.
What are some of your favorite wedding chapels?
Many of our guests talk about the Little Vegas Chapel. I’ve heard that Elvis comes and sings on occasion, which makes it unique and special.
What spots on the Strip can the whole family enjoy?
The Strip offers quite a few activities for guests of all ages, including the Arcade at Horseshoe Las Vegas and the Wildlife Habitat at Flamingo Las Vegas. Other good options for the family to enjoy are visiting the M&M store, exploring AREA15 and watching the Bellagio fountains.
What are some top romantic dinner spots?
The Eiffel Tower Restaurant at Paris Las Vegas is fabulous. It’s cozy and has great views, perfect for a romantic dinner.
Can you share some speakeasy spots and how to get in?
I’ve heard great things about The Count Room at Flamingo Las Vegas. It’s a speakeasy inside Bugsy & Meyer’s Steakhouse, and guests enter through a designated door adjacent to the Flamingo Food Hall. I’d really love to try it.
Are there any spots that offer dinner and a show?
Tournament of Kings at Excalibur is a great option for visitors who want to experience dinner and a show. I like it because it’s fun and it’s good for kids. I also love Marriage Can Be Murder because it is so unique. It’s an interactive show where the audience has a lot of fun playing detective in a murder mystery.
What are three attractions off the Strip that visitors should not miss?
For guests looking to branch out of the Strip, I recommend visiting the Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam. They offer beautiful scenery and show a different side of Las Vegas. I’d also recommend the Arts District in Downtown Las Vegas, as there are so many great spots for food, drinks, shopping and more.
What are three of your most-suggested shows to see and why?
A show I really love is Menopause the Musical. I tell all the women to go watch it because it will undoubtedly make them laugh. I brought my mom to the show once, and she couldn’t stop laughing. During the show, I kept asking her, “Do you remember, Mom?” because we related to it so much. Cirque du Soleil also has great performances. I’ve heard so many amazing things about the Sphere, too, and I am very interested in seeing a show there in the near future.
What lounges have the best views of Las Vegas at night?
Voodoo Lounge’s rooftop at the Rio Hotel & Casino is really cool, as well as the Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay. A new spot that just opened is Caramella at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. It features a beautiful terrace with outdoor dining that I’m very interested in experiencing soon.
What are some of the best Chinatown eateries?
I love 888 Japanese BBQ because they barbecue everything in front of you. It’s really nice. They offer chicken, steak and fish with lots of other options.
What are some of your favorite downtown restaurants and bars?
Some of my favorite downtown restaurants and bars are Commonwealth, Don’t Tell Mama and Gold Spike. My daughter is in the business and has performed downtown, so we swing by these spots often.
What spots transport guests back to old-school Las Vegas?
Fremont Street is such an iconic, old-school Vegas staple for anyone who wants to get a taste of retro Vegas. The Mob Museum also transports guests back to old-school Vegas. These spots remind me of my days in show business back in the day—it was a very fun time.
What spots have the best burgers?
I don’t eat burgers all the time, but I really want to try Gordon Ramsay Burger, which has locations at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and Flamingo. I’ve also heard great things about Guy Fieri’s restaurants—Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen & Bar at The Linq Hotel and Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Sports Kitchen at Horseshoe Las Vegas. I would like to check those out sometime as well.
What restaurants are great for vegans and vegetarians?
A good vegan restaurant is Crossroads Kitchen at Resorts World. My daughter is vegan and goes there a lot, so she took me, and it was great. I loved it.
What do you appreciate most about the VEGAS2GO publication?
I appreciate all the information it offers guests, such as information on restaurants, shopping, clubs and shows and the direction it provides.
What do you and/or your guests find most helpful or useful when using the publication?
This publication is useful for me and my guests in terms of discovering new information on the city, new restaurants and new talent in Las Vegas.
When attending our ELITE events, what do you enjoy most?
I think what I enjoy most is socializing with everyone there. I also appreciate that I get to see new shows and try new restaurants in town.
