Name some of your favorite steakhouses and why.

Craftsteak at MGM Grand is a fantastic steakhouse by chef Tom Colicchio, known for its focus on farm-fresh ingredients, thoughtful sourcing and expertly prepared steaks. The dining room feels upscale and elegant with a classic steakhouse atmosphere, making it a great choice for special occasions, business dinners or a just night out. The menu features a variety of premium beef cuts, including wagyu and Japanese A5, along with dry-aged selections. The porterhouse is my personal favorite, alongside the other classic steaks. The menu also features seafood like fresh salmon and lobster, veal dishes and seasonal vegetable sides. The restaurant’s strong wine list plus the full selection of cocktails, bourbons, and scotches really round out the experience.

What spots on the Strip can the whole family enjoy?

Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay is one of the best family-friendly experiences on the Strip. The aquarium is home to over 2,000 animals spanning 100+ species such as fish, sharks, sea turtles, rays and jellyfish. Guests can explore 14 different themed exhibits representing different habitats including rivers, reefs and deep-sea environments.

Are there any spots that offer dinner and a show?

The Mayfair Supper Club at Bellagio is perfect for dinner and a show. It’s an upscale American supper club experience that blends delicious cuisine with live entertainment and timeless glamor. The night typically starts out with a sit-down dinner and evolves into high-energy performances as the evening goes on. The show includes singers, dancers and live music that plays into the overall experience. One of the big highlights is the setting, with many tables offering views of the Fountains of Bellagio.

What are some of the best pieces of advice that you offer to your guests?

First and foremost, I often tell guests that the Strip is a lot bigger than it seems. Comfortable shoes are a must. I always recommend planning transportation ahead of time. The Strip may seem walkable, but the distances are deceiving. Rideshare, the monorail or the RTC bus can save a lot of time and energy. If your vacation is 3+ days, a rental car is also a great option. If you plan to stay on the Strip and want to visit different properties, I recommend using the RTC bus. It runs along the Strip and Downtown/Fremont Street every 5-10 minutes and operates 24 hours a day. I also suggest making reservations as far in advance as possible. Popular shows, restaurants, spas and pool days tend to book up quickly. Finally, don’t be afraid to explore beyond the Strip. Places like Downtown Las Vegas and Fremont Street, Mount Charleston, Red Rock Canyon, Willow Beach and Hoover Dam can add variety and balance to the trip, especially on weekends and during events.

What are three attractions off the Strip that visitors should not miss?

Mount Charleston is about a 45 to 60-minute drive northwest of Las Vegas and is one of the best natural escapes from the desert heat. Because of its high elevation, it stays much cooler than the valley, even in the summer, making it perfect for a break from the heat. Las Vegas North Premium Outlets is an outdoor outlet mall with a big mix of designer and name-brand stores offering everyday discounts on apparel, shoes, accessories and more. With over 170 outlet stores, it’s known as one of the main outlet destinations near the Strip and Downtown. Willow Beach is a scenic outdoor recreation area on the Colorado River in Arizona, located about 12 miles downstream from Hoover Dam within Lake Mead National Recreation Area. It’s a short drive from Las Vegas and a favorite for boating, kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding. Rentals and launch ramps are available at the marina.

What are three of your most-suggested shows to see and why?

Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil at Mandalay Bay is one of my all-time favorites! The production celebrates the music, dance and legacy of Michael Jackson. It blends acrobatic performances, choreography, state-of-the-art visuals and immersive sound to bring his music and artistic influence to life. Jabbawockeez at MGM Grand is another must see. The masked hip-hop dance crew is known for their signature white masks and synchronized choreography. The show is high-energy, entertaining and creative, combining hip-hop and street dance with theatrical moments set to a mix of pop, R&B, rock and electronic music. Fantasy: The Strip’s Sexiest Tease at Luxor is a great date-night show. It blends sensual dance, music, comedy, choreography and stage production. It’s a modern take on the traditional Vegas topless revue, featuring beautiful dancers, themed routines and burlesque-style performances set to both contemporary and classic music.

What are some of the best Chinatown eateries?

One of my favorite spots in Chinatown is 888 Japanese BBQ. It’s affordable with a variety of options from sushi and high-quality meats to tons of sides and appetizers. Their drink menu is also great with delicious cocktails, sake, soju, wine and beer. You choose a menu option for the table and order from that selection, which makes it easy and fun for groups. They’re open from 11:30 a.m. to midnight, so it’s perfect for lunch, dinner or late-night eats. Overall, it’s a great spot for a fun night out with friends, family or a date.
